Frenchie Cactus!

(Catchupmageddon Post). A commissioned card for a frenchie lover! I was aiming for something clean and modern looking with this card.

I used two stamp sets -
We love dogs from Apple Blossom Craft Collection (STOB0012)
Prickly Plants from For the Love of Stamps by Hunkydory (FTLS203)

I stamped them straight onto the card in this layout and coloured them with copic markers and white posca pen.

Font is All Hooked Up. Enamel bling from the stash.

Aladdin Sane.

Commissioned 21st Birthday Card in the style of a David Bowie LP. Fun brief! I loved making this in the end, though in my brain it seems more complicated than it was in actuality. I could do with some larger round dies, but a tin lid turned out to be exactly 5 inches so, win! :)

So I chose the iconic Aladdin Sane Album, I think it must be the most famous image of Bowie? Her name is Abbie and I was soooo tempted to rename the album "AbbieIn Sane" but I thought that might be too rude! lol. (With a commission you have to be rather more polite, don't you think?)

The Album cover is just a sleeve, like a real LP Cover and then the card slots inside. Here is the card stood up, it's a normal tent fold, but round!

I layered up lots of black circles, and made them shine with a touch of glossy accents. I downloaded the red centre disc for the album and just converted it. The centre is foam mounted/raised and the 21 is a void. I layered sparkly paper behind it to show through the "21".

I love this image from the album shoot (found whilst I was trawling google) and decided to make it the new back cover album art.

Pop Up Vintage Travel Card

Another commission card, but this time a Vintage Travel Pop Up for a 21st Birthday. I collected up lots of stamped images and free clip art to make this theme. The pop up box blanks from Every Craft A Pound are just so easy to use.

I kept the colour scheme quite simple as it was quite an eclectic mix of elements and styles.

Most parts of this from the crafty stash. Of note are these fab epoxy stars from Prima.

21st Birthday Pop-Up For a Trainee Dentist

Really enjoyed making this pop-up dental card for a commission. I used a pop-up box blank from Every Crafts A Pound and then added my own layering and teeth!

The huge amount of cutting, matting and layering is a bit time consuming but having the ready cut blank makes it far easier to attempt. Making the bridges inside to attach the pop ups to is the hardest bit of these cards.

Die cuts and papers all from the crafy stash. Images are free clipart online. Star bling from papermania.

Second Card of the Day.

So had to make two 21st cards and this time chose another of the recipient's interests, old green landrovers.
This is a vintage advertisement that I converted into a four layer decoupage image. I couldn't resist adding some stickles glitter. The sheep were lucky not to get glittered too!

Happy New Year!

New Year's Resolution ~ start blogging more of my cards as I make them! Sometimes it might be tricky to post all of the cards because I don't want to ruin the surprise if they are for someone I know online but it'd be nice to show the kind of cards I make for my present customers.
This is a card for a BMW enthusiast. I went with some pictures of the new BMW i8.
This card has also hardened my resolve to update my printer. This German engineering required far crisper printing!
