Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to you!

I have snuck in an extra Dr.Digi's Project so I can wish you a Happy Halloween on the right day! Here is "Spells for Beginners" and yes, I went rainbow! lol.

You might recognize this wizard from my post last friday! This time tho, he is rocking his knitted outfit instead. If you are interested in having a go at this knitted texture yourself, please pop and look at my demo for it!

It's all polychromo except for the odd posca pen glint. I added some glossy accents to his orb but tbh it looked better before, lol! Really enjoyed doing this in polychromos, rainbow knitting does take quite a while, but I wasn't bothered about how long it took this time. I also had a go at snakeskin boots, more practice required for sure!

Greeting is part made by me on the PC and part of one of the sentiments from the The Dr.Digi Halloween Sentiment Set.

If you would like to see more cool images from Dr.Digi, why not pop to the facebook group and do some serious scrolling?

I have started on Christmas.

It's not even that early to start is it? I know several people who have already finished their Christmas Makes! Already! But, here I am, still on my first few and I decided to use the Layered Stencil "Plaid" from Witt and Sass to make a feature background for a christmas card.

I used the stencil and distress inks to begin with and then used some texture paste through the stencil afterwards.

I added some ribbon (freebies from Making Cards Magazine), red rosette (From Helen) and Jolee gingerbread stickers also from Helen (I think she may have had them in her stash for a while!)

I printed out a greeting on the PC in Bernadette Rough and added with 3D Foam. Done!
Thanks for joining me today! I've another Christmas Make using the Plaid Stencil scheduled for Thursday :)

More Magical Collab!

Hope you are enjoying the Magical Friendship Week and have managed to take part in some of the fun and festivities?! Pop by the Witt & Sass Facebook Page to get up-to-date details of what's going on!

Here is part two of my collaboration bookmark set using the Magical Creatures and Magical Accessories Stamp Sets from Witt and Sass with the Masters of Magic Stamp Set from Kindred Stamps.

I created the backgrounds using distress oxides, water and stencils also from Witt & Sass, the Layered Leaf Stencil and the Layered Dots Stencil. Once again "Make your own Magic" is a sentiment on the Kindred Stamps Set and I added "Read a Book" to it.

I coloured all the other elements with copic pens and a white posca pen. Behind each sentiment is a hidden secret magical quote!

And now I can also share with you some photos of the full set! I love how they look together!

Thanks for popping to the blog! I hope you like this foray into bookmarks! I did :D And hope you enjoyed a collaboration between two fab stamp companies too!

Magical Friendships

Hey All! It's Magical Friendship Week at Witt and Sass and I recommend following the Witt & Sass Facebook Group so you can take part in all the fun activities!

It's a happy week where Witt & Sass have teamed up with Kindred Stamps and the DT has been able to combo stamp sets from both companies for their DT projects.

(If you are hunting for something, it might be in this picture here!)

I have made a set of book marks for this week and I will be sharing two now, and the other two on Thursday! And impressive group shots, lols!  I have started with two of the wizards from the Kindred Stamp Set called - Masters of Magic.  The Greeting "Make Your Own Magic" is also from that set. I added "read a book" to it.

On the bottom of the book mark I have used Badgerpuff and Pytherin from the Magical Creatures Set from Witt & Sass. I also added books and potions from the Magical Accessories Set also from Witt and Sass. All the characters were coloured with Copic pens and a white posca pen.

The sentiment is actually a tab you can lift to reveal a quote underneath! I can't tell you what it says though because it's somewhat magical.

The backgrounds were created by blending distress oxides and flicking water on them to remove some pigment. I used stencils as well but due to the placement of the characters you can't really see them! #craftfail! lol .

I'm really looking forward to sharing the next two from the set with you! They were great fun to make (and a change from cards!) and I hope they might make a smashing Xmas pressie for a Wizard fan! :D

Cheeky Devil!

Hello again on a rather chilly Dr.Digi DT friday! Today I have a new release stamp to share called Cheeky Devil

As normal, this is polychromo pencils on kraft card. The backing paper is also from Dr.Digi's and is from the paper set "Spells". (The paper sets are really good value at only a £1 and they are sized to fit onto normal A4 paper already.)

The wording is partly my own using Viner hand ITC font, and the "Halloween"is from the Dr.Digi's Halloween Sentiment Set.

Tried quite a few new things out with this digi and pushed myself to use some different colour schemes and textures. Couldn't resist a bit of plaid though, it's like I'm addicted, lol! Ending on a close up today!  Please head to the Dr.Digi's Facebook Page for more fab work by the Dr.Digi DT!

I'm Batty!

Although Sexy Hexy Hilda is the star of the show (on the Sexy Hexy Hilda Stamp Set by Witt & Sass) I did rather like the bat best, so I made him HUGE and then coloured him in, with sentiment also from the set!

I actually scanned him and resized him.

Remember it's good etiquette to check with the stamp designer or owner if you want to do this and publish your finished card online. (I don't think it matters if you buy the stamp and do it just for you to send cards to friends, the problem is duplicating it, and then possibly making it easy to reproduce and sell))

He is polychromo pencils on kraft card. Bling and backing paper from the stash. I did use some white posca pen on his eyes, but no glossy accents this time. I spent quite a while looking at how real batwings work before colouring this. I like to add a touch of realism. Because of where I was when I coloured this, it was easy to time how long it took, so it took approx 3 hours (with the odd break).

Thanks very much for popping in to visit me today. I love colouring this up, anything furry is just a pleasure to colour and I enjoyed the challenge of the wings! See you soon. Have you joined Witt and Sass on facebook yet? There is a freebie folder for members you know?

Sexy Hexy Hilda!

Hi folks. Today is a Witt & Sass DT day and this week is dedicated to the new Sexy Hexy Hilda Stamp Set! And here is my Hilda, looking a bit like a cross between Dolly Parton and Little Mix's Jesy Nelson! Lols.

I coloured her as normal with polychromos on kraft card. The sentiment is also on the stamp set! Background paper is from a 6x6 perfectly plaid set by Lawn Fawn. Added some stickles and glossy accents at the end, ooo and some purple pearl bling!

Thanks for joining me today! Have you popped by the offical Witt & Sass blog yet? I am writer in residence on Mondays and Tuesdays :D

Zombie Hugs

I thought I would make a bit of a CAS card for my second Witt & Sass slot this week. I have used the bloody pools, arms and a fab sentiment from the new Zombie Pets Set!

I created it twice in case I messed up the copic colouring, but as it was so nice to colour, and the colouring went quite well, I ended up making two! I rounded off the corners and mounted the toppers on backing papers from the Chalk Studio Basics 6x6 from My Mind's Eye.

I also added a spot of bling with some "Fun Fair" enamel dots from Trimcraft. Some of my creepy props may have been harmed in the making of this photoshoot due to me eating them, lol.

Nice to have a stamp set than gives you ideas for something simple and effective to make, that's also pretty speedy! Hope it inspires you too!

Zombie Kitty!

Some zombie goodness from Witt & Sass today, part of the new "Zombie Pets" Stamp Set that I couldn't resist!

Zombie kitty and sentiment are both from the stamp set, and I coloured him with polychromo pencils on kraft.

I added some highlights with white posca pen and then mounted him onto a card base covered with some orange perfectly plaid paper by Lawn Fawn. Added some bling from the stash to the corners too.

I actually just coloured him up like a normal kitty (despite the eyeball and brains, lol) to start with and took a quick photo, like a before and after makeover shot!

I quite liked him at the cute fluffy stage, and was almost tempted to leave him looking pretty not gory!  Loads more awesome fall products coming from Witt & Sass, and not long til part 2 of the fall release. Sign up to the Witt & Sass facebook page for regular updates and inspo from the team.

Knitting!

Back with a quick alert post! Just want to let you know that if you were keen to find out about how I create my knitting texture I now have added a free photo demo of what I do to my Tutorials (link above). But here is also a direct link to it : HERE

I have also made a new digi (for sale at a special low price) for you to practice on if you don't already have a suitable stamp. She is called Knitted Kitty. And she is the same special price even if you don't want to do the knitted texture thing so here is a direct link to her in the shop: HERE

If you want to have a go at following the technique and encounter any problems I am always happy to discuss colouring, so pop me a msg or email, or comment on this post! I am also going to add a couple of new photos where I think a better photo would be in order, so all your feedback is appreciated, I'd like to act on your suggestions. I enjoyed doing this demo, so I hope you do too.
