Tea Trolly Dolly

Hi All! Very excited to share with you the first of my cards I made for the June Edition of Making Cards Magazine representing Dr.Digi's House of Stamps.

I used elements from the Tea Time Set! It's a bargain to begin with, but if you use the special code in the magazine for 20% off, it's even more of a bargain! You can also buy all the elements separately, I've tried to link to them in my Card Recipe Below.

When I prepared my cards for the magazine I also created a full card recipe and a list of all the pencils I used so I have added to them post too, hope they are useful to you for creating cards or colouring!

Card Recipe

Base
  • Create a 17 cm x 17 cm card blank.
  • Print out onto white paper the Bickie – Jammy Dodgers backing paper from the Tea and Bickies Backing Paper Set.
  • Line paper up centrally on card, adhere with double-sided tape and cover card blank. Cut off any excess.

Topper:
  • On the PC make a topper image (15.5 cm x 15.5 cm) using Tea Trolley Dolly digistamp and sentiment from Tea Time SentimentsSheet. Resize elements to fit.
  • Make digistamp paler.
  • Add an edge on the topper before printing to make it easy to cut out straight.
  • Print out topper directly onto Kraft Card. Also print on the same A4 sheet the digistamp once again, at full strength to use as a guide when you colour.

Colouring:

  • Colour in Tea Trolley Dolly with Faber-Castell Polychromo Pencils.
  • Create a diamond pattern floor surface for her to stand on also with Faber-Castell Polychromo Pencils.
  • Add highlights using White (0.7 mm) Posca Pen.
  • Clean up any smudges and pencil dust around your image using an eraser.
  • Cut out topper. Using a curved edge to guide you, cut off one of the corners.

Finishing Off:

  • From the sentiments sheet print and cut out one Jammy Dodger. For a perfect circle use a round die to fit your printed biscuit. Add glossy accents to jam and allow to dry.
  • Stick Jammy Dodger into right hand corner of card front.
  • Using 3D foam place topper onto card
  • Add Ranger Glossy Accents to glasses, earrings and cherries.

Polychromo Pencil Recipe:

Skin: 101, 110, 128, 129, 130, 132, 177, 190, 219
Dress; 101, 104, 107, 177, 187, 225
Apron and hat: 101, 146, 199, 271, 274
Socks: 101, 107, 177, 180, 187
Slippers: 101, 115, 177, 219, 225

Hares!

Just wanted to share a commissioned card I made using the Hobby Art Ltd stamp - March Hares!

Helen kindly leant me the stamp set and I coloured him up with polychromo pencils, I was aiming to get him looking a bit more realistic than my normal style.

The paper, and flowers I used in the wreath were a freebie set from Making Cards Magazine (June 2016 may be???) that Helen had also donated to me recently when she was destashing. The hare sticker on the envelope is from my vast sticker stash.

The banner I made on the computer, font is Bernadette Rough. Been a long time since I have accessorised with a large bow, but I liked the colour match! Added some gems to the flowers too.

Privacy Policy.

Hi Folks, a quick post to let you know I now have a privacy policy and it is here.

Basically I don't store your details on my personal PC, but google stores a few details if you visit or comment on my blog.

If you have signed up to receive emails with updates on, they store that too. They don't store anything beyond what you would expect and I personally can't see any of it. So nothing to worry about.

You can unsubscribe from the emails anytime, and I'm sure you would guess I can see your blogger name and blogger details (if you have some) when you leave a comment so.... nothing much to worry you there either!

There is also a new privacy policy in my Etsy Shop, which is more extensive, but basically says the same thing. I store nothing locally and only use the details you have on etsy for sending you physical goods if you have ordered them and sending you messages if you require tech support or have an inquiry. That's about it! It is here if you are keen to check up on it. I suspect you are not.

Just crossing T's and dotting I's. =^..^=

Here are some lovely flowers to add some cheer to the dullness! :D Have really enjoyed visiting garden centres the last couple of weeks, garden is almost full and ready for summer!

Extra LBBS post!

Popping by with an extra Little Blue Button Stamps post this month! (X-post to the LBBS Blog) Excited to share with you Miss Lilly Kitty. Inspired by my friend Grace's KPop Top! :D

I normally avoid black, if I can, I find it's much slower to build up enough black for it to be clearly black but also enough shade so it's got highlights and shadows. If you get it wrong it's just grey. This is using polychromo pencils, as normal.

I did the fur technique on the hat and loved how it came out! I think it night be the star of the show, so I tried hard to match the awesomeness in her outfit too! lol! I found a Shimelle bling heart to use for the nose, thought it was a more interesting change in texture than leaving my coloured version.

Here she is in the shop so you can see how she looked before I went in with the black and rainbow! She was super easy to colour, loved doing her and think I could use her for loads of different occassions, adult and kids cards alike.

Just popped on Pinterest to find a quote about being Awesome that I thought my friend would like :) The Font is Scooby Doo, I used it as an outline too for the rainbow lettering.
The Stars are stickers from one of the poundshop places. They are actually really nice and enamel feeling so if I see some more I will be buying them! :) Background paper from the stash.

There are a lot more creations by the DT team and customers if you go to the LBBS facebook page. Loads of inspiration too! Click the link below.

Emogeez Badgez

It's Dr.Digi friday and today we are doing something different! Not a polychromo in sight! I whipped out my Bandai Super Badge-it Machine and rustled up some badges!.

Each badge is a different Dr.Digi Emogee! They are really cool coloured digis featuring fab emoji images and sentiments. Example to help with explaining:
They're £2 per sheet or you could grab all 10 sheets (Two emoji's per sheet) for just £10 in the Emogeez set! I thought they would be a perfect card for a youngish boy. (Font I used it A.C.M.E. Secret Agent).

I have used emogeez here from four of the sets, Emogeez OMG, Emogeez Good and Bad, Emogeez Poop and Emogeez Cool. I made a yellow striped backing paper and then printed out some stars to diecut into circles. The badges are quite raised but I was still able to send at a large letter size (UK).

So hope that is an interesting twist on using a precoloured digi. Have you got a badge machine? It's a great way to upgrade a card! And create a mini present too. Want more ideas? Pop to the Dr.Digi facebook page and join usssssssss.

Little Girl, with flowers!

Hi all, this is the final installment from the four part set for Sweet Escape Digis, and this is "Little Girl".

***Newsflash - Right now there are two fab offers in the Sweet Escape Digis shop you should know about. One offer is 50% off your purchase if you use the coupon code "HELLO50" within the next week. The second is five digis for $5! (Check out the shop listing for details.)You can't use both at the same time, but both are incredible deals!***

Isn't she pretty? :) I wanted to make a feature of her flowers, so I took a zoomed in picture of her bouquet and then pasted it into two strips either side of the central panel. When I placed the little girl I overlapped one of the edges slightly, to give her the appearance of being slightly 3D. I tried my best to colour the two strips to match the parts in the main digi they related to.

Also when I printed the image out I added some text using the font Teutonic. This could easily be a single layer card but I prefer to mount it as a topper and use the layering as a border.

When I finished the colouring (with polychromo pencils), I used some stickles to highlight the centre of the flowers. I added some glossy accents to her earrings so they catch the light. And finally I added some white posca pen highlights to her eyes.
This is her in close up:

And here she is in the shop if you fancy colouring her (Remember, especially whilst the deals are on, she is part of the four part set featuring all the Sweet Escape Digis I have coloured recently) :

I have really enjoyed doing this set of four stamps, they were all fun to colour, and I shall quickly use them up sending them to friends and family! Thank you Sweet Escape Digis for letting me create with and share your super stamps!

The other three images are blogged here:

Enjoying reading?

I knew just the little girl this stamp would be ideal for when I saw it. I always love hearing that a child is really into reading and consuming works regarded as well beyond their age. Though in truth, I don't think you have to be a certain age to enjoy a certain book, nothing should be off limits.

So I don't forget to mention it, just right now there is a 50% off coupon code to use in the Sweet Escape Shop - HELLO50

This stamp is the beautiful Melissa Reading, by Sweet Escape Digis and I coloured her with polychromo pencils.

I teamed her up with a quote I hope any reader will enjoy and recognise themselves in. The font is Pristina. I hope if you are a Potter-nut you will spot the potter references in her clothes and which book she is reading. The recipient is a proper Potterhead.

The spotty paper was a freebie in Making Cards Magazine in June 2013, practically an antique! The other paper is from the stash, as was a spot of glossy accents and some gems.

Here she is in the shop - (The digi includes both versions, the smiling one I have coloured and this one below!)

Loved working on this digi, have one more to go from this foursome set, you can save money and buy them as a set btw, plus with the current coupon code, they are super cheap!!! Click the picture below if you are interested and head to the shop!

Cosbucks?

Hi everyone! (Cross post to LBBS Blog) It's the 8th of the month so I am here with my new Little Blue Button DT project and... it's a PANDA! :D Or more specifically, Panda with cup! I love him, he was such fun to colour and I loved making him a bit coffee themed.

Happened to be at my friend Toni's house when I coloured this one up and she suggested the drink be from the famous brand "Cosbucks". Made me chuckle so I decided to include it, along with this little coffee related saying!

So this is polychromos on kraft. I added white posca pen hightlights and some glossy accents to the eyes. Around him and splodges of stickles and Nuvo jewel drops.

And here he is the shop if you are tempted? There are so many things you could do with this little guy, I kinda fancy doing something a bit more interesting with the glass part of his specs next, so may need to colour him again very soon!

Or why not check out the shop to see more great digis?

Dr.Digi's Friday

It's friday, phew! Busy week crafting! Here is my latest DT Card for Dr.Digi's and it's already posted and hopefully with the recipient now! Quick turn around for this card :D

This is "Bring the Noise" from Dr.Digi's, once again I needed a music based digi for a man's card and luckily Dr. Digi has something spot on! I had to check ACDC was ok though, I have poor music knowledge skillz.

Font is "You are Loved" and the backing paper (and little cassettes in the corners) are from Dr.Digi too and are the C30 C60 C90 Go backing paper set. (Everyone over forty will have no probs with that! For everyone else... the cassette backing paper!  lol!) As normal this is polychromo pencils on kraft. The bling was from the stash. The guitar might not be anatomically correct, don't zoom in too tight pls! :D

If you are thinking I cheated a bit, yes, you are right, I didn't fancy doing black speakers behind him with the black t-shirt, black jacket and black hair, so I left them as the digi, and as black lines, this time I only reduced the darkness of the lines for the rocker and not the speakers behind him. Did that make sense? When I print out my images directly onto kraft I always make them slightly lighter than the original so I get a bit of "no-line colouring technique" feeling about the image, and can add extra texture with my pencil over the lines! I know... I don't colour within the lines normally at all! freedom!

If you are interested in Dr.Digi stamps and want to know a bit more and keep up to date with what is going on, why not join us on the facebook group? It's the last day of the pet-selfie competition today, so why not check if you can enter ASAP!???

I coloured it with polychromos and couldn't resist going for the obvious and making it into a fabulous new home card!

Think the backing paper might have been a christmassy one, but I needed some red and green! :) Font is Wooden Nickel NF.
