Pray

Popping in with a beautiful digi from Sweet Escape Digis. This digi is called "Pray".

***Always remember to pop to the Sweet Escape Digis Facebook Page to check their latest offer! Currently it's a fab freebie digi with purchase!  But if you're reading this later on, pop to the FB page to get deets of the current offer! ***

I thought she would be perfect on a "Thinking of you" card so added that sentiment to her using the computer before printing out the topper. (Font is October Twilight)

Here is the digi in the shop: (I printed her out a little paler so the lines wouldn't be as dark when I coloured her.)

And here is a close up of my verion:

When I had finished colouring her with my polychromo pencils I added in a bit of extra detail using a white posca pen, and some stickles to the stars.

I mounted her onto my card base with 3D foam tape and using a backing paper from Making Crafts Magazine.

I quite like to have a more cheerful "thinking of you" card in stock, because I don't use them just for sympathy card occasions.

Thanks for joining me today. Please pop to the Sweet Escape Digis Shop and check out their beautiful stamps, cos I am a naughty enabler :) Remember to get details of the latest offer from their facebook page.

Fairy with flowers!

Hiya, another GDT post today! :) I hope you didn't miss this amazing freebie on Kit & Clowder, but thankfully Fairy with flowers is now available in the Sweet Escape Shop to buy! And more good news, I have an offer code to share with you so you can also get 20% off, use SWEET20

It's always worth keeping an eye out on the Sweet Escape Facebook Page for the latest special deal! Why not buy her using the 4 stamps for £10 offer instead?

So here is my card using her! She was so much fun to colour.

And here is the digistamp, I know it can be nice to compare the stamp to the coloured image?

And my coloured version -

I used polychromo pencils as normal on Kendal Buff cardstock. I also used a lot of white posca pen and a smidge of glitter on the flowers.

The background paper is verrrry old and from the stash. The fonts are Bernadette Rough and KG No Regrets.

I am still tempted to make a mask and cover the whole of the wings with glitter varnish?  It might happen, I just wanted to show off how nice the stamp was to colour before going mad with glitter, lol!

Thanks for joining me today. Make sure to join up to the Sweet Escape FB page for offers and check out their shop to see all the lovely things they have to offer! So many beautiful stamps.

Little Girl, with flowers!

Hi all, this is the final installment from the four part set for Sweet Escape Digis, and this is "Little Girl".

***Newsflash - Right now there are two fab offers in the Sweet Escape Digis shop you should know about. One offer is 50% off your purchase if you use the coupon code "HELLO50" within the next week. The second is five digis for $5! (Check out the shop listing for details.)You can't use both at the same time, but both are incredible deals!***

Isn't she pretty? :) I wanted to make a feature of her flowers, so I took a zoomed in picture of her bouquet and then pasted it into two strips either side of the central panel. When I placed the little girl I overlapped one of the edges slightly, to give her the appearance of being slightly 3D. I tried my best to colour the two strips to match the parts in the main digi they related to.

Also when I printed the image out I added some text using the font Teutonic. This could easily be a single layer card but I prefer to mount it as a topper and use the layering as a border.

When I finished the colouring (with polychromo pencils), I used some stickles to highlight the centre of the flowers. I added some glossy accents to her earrings so they catch the light. And finally I added some white posca pen highlights to her eyes.
This is her in close up:

And here she is in the shop if you fancy colouring her (Remember, especially whilst the deals are on, she is part of the four part set featuring all the Sweet Escape Digis I have coloured recently) :

I have really enjoyed doing this set of four stamps, they were all fun to colour, and I shall quickly use them up sending them to friends and family! Thank you Sweet Escape Digis for letting me create with and share your super stamps!

The other three images are blogged here:

Little Miss Muffet Tuesday going down like a lead balloon?

It's that time again! And before I start -

Thanks very much for having me as a guest at Little Miss Muffet Stamps! Gorgeous range of digis and such a lovely friendly design team and community! It has been a real pleasure to work with you all.

Here is my final project for Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this superb image is called "Feline Lead Balloon" and it makes me feel a bit on edge waiting for the pop!

Loved colouring this, worked really hard on trying to get a smooth blend on the balloon and resisted adding glossy accents to it so had to create the light and shine using just the pencils. Coloured the kitty using my normal technique for colouring fur with polychromo pencils on kraft card.

Here is a link to the digi in the shop!

I removed the sentiment that comes with the image and replaced it with something more birthday related. Fonts are Concurso Modern and DK Rosy Lee. The background paper is a freebie from Making Cards Magazine and I added purple sequins from the stash.

Although I left the balloon bare I did add glossy accents to his eyes, nose and nails. Spent a lot of time wondering if I need to add some kind of shadow for his fourth limb but in the end decided it was prolly obscured by the front leg.  A bit of a cheat maybe? :)

Loved colouring this up. Another super digi from LMMS! Would you like to see more and perhaps win some? Then check out the link below to visit the challenge blog!

Third Tuesday LMMS Post! - with added foxes.

Hello again! Back on a tuesday with some gorgeous Little Miss Muffet Stamps digi action! And this time is Celeste Amberglow Winter Woods. Yes, you are correct, I chose her cos of the fox. I am that predictable :)

This is such an incredibly pretty stamp, I really wanted to work hard to do her justice. I also was super keen to try out some new textures, so the boots have two textures and I wanted to add fur trims to the hoody. The greeting is simple because I am going to send her to a friend later on this year. (Font is Breamcatcher). As normal I used polychromo pencils on kraft card.

I added some glossy accents to her eyes and some stickles to the hearts on her hoody just to bling her up a bit, tho I was very tempted to leave her completely plain. Pearly gems around her were ancient stash finds. Used a new paper pad for the backing paper - Retro Feelings by Craft Sensations (Which claims to be doublesided, but unfortunately isn't!). I liked the colours in this paper tho, and thought it went well with the image.

There are so many ways to colour Celeste, I felt really inspired and just wanted to colour her again afterwards! If she tempts you, here she is in the shop:

Thanks very much for reading this far! If you would like the chance to win a voucher to spend in the LMMS shop, why don't you take part in the next LMMS Challenge on the Challenge Blog? Also a nice way to see some inspiration from the Design Team for using the stamps!

Little Miss Muffet Tuesday Time!

It's the second tuesday of the month and I am back with a new GDT Little Miss Muffet Project, and this time I have used Luna Bitterfrost Fallen Angel.

Isn't she awesome!? And great for feather practice, hair practice and skin practice! Really enjoyed doing her pink wings but it did take a while to do. They immediately improved with some pink glittery stickles right at the very end!

It's a simple greeting because I am going to use it for a commissioned card. (Font is Bernadette Rough) The remit for the commission was pink and sparkly, and I already know that they like shoes, so hoping her outfit will appeal too! I love her boots!

Really enjoyed my second guest project for Little Miss Muffet Stamps. Luna was such fun to do, plenty of little detail challenges to get stuck in to! Hope my customer likes her as much as I do :) Fancy colouring her yourself? Here she is in the shop!

LMMS has a fab facebook group you know? Why not pop by, join up and have a chat? :) It's also a great way to find out about new releases!

GDT for Sheepski!

Very happy to be doing a spot of GDTing, this time for Sheepski Designs! Was very happy that my robin won the Sheepski Facebook Challenge and I was offered an image for GDTing in Jan!

Here is my card, using the "Freesia Vase" Digistamp from Sheepski Designs. I just took a section of the stamp to work with on the front of my card.

Image is painted and splashed with Gansai Tambi Watercolour Paints. I printed the digi slightly paler than the original to remove any harsh lines. I also printed directly onto watercolour paper. I added some yellow stickles to the front of the card.
The font is Honey Script.
I made this as a commission for a friend.

Here is the image in the shop, in full, so you can see how I cropped it. The attention to detail in this stamp is amazing!

I wish the watercolour paper would photograph better! The card looked much prettier in real life. I have a new light to use in 2018, hopefully it will change the hue a little and make the watercolour paper more white and bright! Fingers crossed.

Thank you Andrea for having me on the DT!

Sweet Escape Tuesday No.5.

Final Guest DT Sweet Escape Digi Tuesday! And this time I bring to you - Cute Couple Foxes!

I made them christmassy, but they could be for any occasion! Super cute anniversary card too I think? Here is a link to them in the shop and what they look like as a digi!

I coloured them in polychromo pencils on kraft card and added text in Gigi font.

I also teamed them up with some awesome freebie papers from Making Cards Magazine, and I think it's a pretty current issue if you fancy getting some for yourself? I also added some glossy accents and stickles for some highlights.

So time to say thank you to Sweet Escape Digis for having me! I have had a super five weeks as a Guest DT and loved colouring your digistamps! Thank you very much :)

Sweet Escape Tuesday No.4

Back once again with some more Sweet Escape Digi joy! - This is Lady Dragon!

Lady Dragon is one of four super digis in the Fantasy Digital Stamps Pack. Here is a look at the actual digi and a link to  her in the shop.

I wanted to go a bit, "mother of dragons" with her, so gave her a kinda GOT theme with the text, and made the bit of hair I could see pale blonde, and gave her violet eyes!

But I'm not sure she is entirely Khalessi! She was beautiful to colour though. I confess, it took me more than one evening to colour her in, but I gave myself a strict colour palette to follow as I was aiming for a rich effect.

The font is called Game of Thrones and the papers are from Making Cards Magazine. The sequins and ribbon are from the stash and I used stickles, nuvo drops and glossy accents to highlight areas too. It's a pretty big card, I used an 8x8 kraft card blank from Papermania.

I declare this...

Sweet Escape Tuesday! And it shall remain that, for the next five weeks! Great pleasure to be working as Guest DT at Sweet Escape Digis and I have some awesome images to share with you.

The first image is the penguin from the Kawaii Christmas Friends Pack. He is totes adorbs!

As normal, you won't be shocked, I went for my polychromo's on kraft card for him. Used the normal fur technique but with much shorter, sharper strokes and less swishing about around the edges. They are the technical terms lol. I also used a white posca pen for extra highlights on the black part of his feathers/fur.

As you have probably spotted the knitting obsession struck again, and he had to have a knitted hat and scarf to keep him warm whilst doing a spot of fishing. I added him in a fishing rod, basket and fish, just to upgrade the context and not just sit him on snow like I normally do!

Finally I added some glossy accents (They haven't quite dried in this pic, I've just spotted!) and some stickles. The font I have used is called October Twilight and I added on to it with some white posca pen. The background paper is from The Works and my friend Helen kindly purchased it for me recently. (I am oddly short of Xmas backing paper, I think I have been telling myself to stop buying more of it for years, and now I have none! :))

Here he is in the shop, with his kawaii colleagues in case you fancy treating yourself?

I'll be back next Tuesday with another Sweet Escape Digi, they are proving fabulous to colour, really excited to get cracking with the next one! Stay tuned! :)
