Thank Mew!

Back again today (X-post to the Sassy and Crafty Blog, time zones permitting.) with the second of my two cards for Sassy and Crafty using the Thank Mew Stamp Set!

It was unfortunately sold out when I wrote this post, but if you feel spendy make sure to leave your email address on the shop listing so you get notified when it's back in stock!

Isn't she cute? Obviously I coloured her with polychromo pencils on kraft card.

This is what the stamp set looks like, more kitties and some awesome sentiments:

If you've spotted that she is somewhat bigger than she is in the rubber stamp set you are correct. I'm going to repeat what I said on the last post, I hope you don't mind.

Normally it's not ok to (just) digitise a stamped image but lucky for me, I asked and the folks at Sassy and Crafty they said "yes!" I was able to go to town on this chap with my polychromo pencils. If you are a pencil artist and find it hard to work with small stamped images it can never hurt to ask if it's ok for you to enlarge them. Lots of artists will be ok with it, they might even help your out with the process, but always ask! Don't be offended if they say no, and never share your digitised stamps with anyone else!

Here is a close up of the kitty bit, or erm kitty-bitty? lol.

I cannot think of pink and yellow and not also want to eat some Battenberg Cake immediately! Gosh they are delicious. It was hard to take photos and not just eat them, lol! Apparently it's a very English thing, do you have it in your country?

I used some papers from Making Cards Magazine. I went with a  fruit paper again, it's a bit of a theme as I used watermeh-lone papers on the last Sassy and Crafty card I made, lol.

Loved colouring her up, printed her out as a complete topper and then masked off the wording so I didn't get it too dirty with my pencil dust. Afterwards I 3D foam mounted her onto my backing paper.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you can find something to tempt you in the Sassy and Crafty shop as the Battenberg Cake tempted me! Thanks to Sassy and Crafty for inviting me to take part on the GDT team during July!

Not long to catnap....

Hi again! Got lots of Knitty Kitty things to share with you today, thought I would write up a blog post covering as much as possible in synopsis, including the new Knitty Kitty Digi Catnap digistamp (that was a Facebook Group freebie before Xmas).

So to start with, three sponsoring news stories!

I am very happy to be the featured digi artist in the current edition of Through the Craft Room Door.  The TTCRD DT and the KKD DT have done some amazing projects for it! If you subscribe to the mag you get the full inspo collection but some of the DT members have posted their cards in the KKD Facebook Group too!

If you subscribe to the magazine you will get two free Knitty Kitty Digis! They are only free to subscribers.

Through the Craft Room Door is a bi-monthly publication dedicated to bringing you exciting projects to inspire your card making and scrap book endeavors! In addition to articles, product reviews and kid friendly crafts, each issue introduces new or well known digi artists and their works. If you are interested in a subscription, details can be found on the website.

This issue's front cover:

Second sponsoring news!

Knitty Kitty Digis is also sponsoring at The Crafty Addicts Challenge Blog this month. Their DT have made some super projects using KKD stamps! If you would like to take part, just attach one of you projects to the Challenge Post! There is a prize of 3 KKD images!

Third sponsoring news!

Knitty Kitties are also sponsoring The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge!  Very happy that their DT will be posting lots of super projects in the Knitty Kitty facebook group this month. Have you ever been and explored the Outlawz challenges? So much going on there and a really active and supportive crafty social group!

And Finally the Card!

Right, and finally today I want to share with you the card I have made using the "Catnap" digistamp from Knitty Kitty Digis

As normal this is polychromo pencils on kraft card. I print the image and greeting directly onto a smooth kraft card. I make the digi image pale so I can go over the lines when I colour the fur. (Link to my fur colouring step by step photos -->  here.)

I added a tiny spot of white posca pen to the eyes and nose. Background papers from the stash and bling stars are from Paperchase. Font is Angelina.

Thanks very for making it to the bottom of this very long post! Nice to have so much Knitty Kitty related content to share with you today! I have some new stamps to share soon too!

Mycroft goes Siamese.

Hi Everyone! I come to you from the land of the plague. I've pretty much been in bed since the start of 2019! No... not an epic hangover, the mother of all colds (possibly the man flu!) attacked me and I was truly knobbled! Anyway, germs can't reach you through the tinterweb, so you are safe to read on.

Mycroft is back on Dr.Digi's House of Stamps Friday! My favourite Dr.Digi cat (yes, there is more than one) is this time, a long haired Siamese! (Tho I realise I'm not sure if that's super different from a Persian? )

You know I like to set myself a bit of a colouring challenge, so this time I decided to tackle wet fur, underwater fur and floating fur. It really was a challenge. I think I might be trying again, I wasn't happy with all of it, but it seemed a good point to finish up and think about it more for next time! (Crafty colourist friends, I really do want to tempt you into having a go!? He's only £1.50/$1.99 in the shop!)

Here is the stamp -

And here is my version -

So I used polychromo pencils as normal, and actually didn't change much (for me). Dr. Digi has kindly included lots of detail to help on this one, even the shine of the bowl!

I was going to go without white posca pen, but decided in the end that the white highlights and damp spot really needed something extra, so it was either posca pen or glossy accents, and I went with the pen. Font is A.C.M.E. Special Agent. Background paper and corner gems from the stash.

Thanks for joining me today and sharing in my colouring adventure! I shall aim for more impressive bedraggled cat results next time I tackle him, lol! Click the badge below to check out the busy Dr.Digi's facebook group!

Halloween & Cats!

Back to my normal friday Dr. Digi slot and a bit more Halloween spookiness for you, this time with The WereKitty!

I love this chap and had a great time colouring him up! I also added a Dr.Digi moon behind him as he was a Were-creature, it seemed important. (I actually stole the moon from another digi, but as Dr.Digi does do a very nice moon, I shall link to it here.)

The sentiment is from the Dr.Digi's Halloween Sentiment Sheet, the purrfect match! Just used a plain grey paper from the stash for the background plus a giant purple pearl as the bling.

Really happy with his eyes and head, struggled hard to get the rest to match and I am still toying with the idea to add some whiskers! You know, when you finish a picture, it can be those final tweaks that ruin it? Yes, that!

Had fun, as normal with Dr.Digi Stamps! Here is the original in case you want to see what the stamp looks like -

I love a bit of Halloween colouring to do, great excuse to use purple, orange and green too! Another spooky make will be coming next Dr.Digi friday!

Mycroft and Watson

Dr.Digi Friday folks, second post today, both DT's have for just one day, aligned! I am here to share with you the fabulous Mycroft and Watson.

Really enjoyed colouring this up, though I did slightly regret opting for a woven dog bed, about thirty minutes into colouring it, lol!

I added a sentiment directly to the digi before printing it out and colouring it in. Font is Bernadette Rough. Just finished it off by 3D foaming it onto the card blank and backing paper, and then some corner bling to finish. Glossy accents on the noses HAD to be done.

Here is the digi in the shop if you are interested in taking a look and maybe purchasing?
Click on the badge below to check out the Dr.Digi Facebook Group! Helpful if you want to keep an eye out for special offers and comps!

Final Shot of the card, cos I took far more photos than were strictly necessary! :D

Little Miss Muffet Tuesday going down like a lead balloon?

It's that time again! And before I start -

Thanks very much for having me as a guest at Little Miss Muffet Stamps! Gorgeous range of digis and such a lovely friendly design team and community! It has been a real pleasure to work with you all.

Here is my final project for Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this superb image is called "Feline Lead Balloon" and it makes me feel a bit on edge waiting for the pop!

Loved colouring this, worked really hard on trying to get a smooth blend on the balloon and resisted adding glossy accents to it so had to create the light and shine using just the pencils. Coloured the kitty using my normal technique for colouring fur with polychromo pencils on kraft card.

Here is a link to the digi in the shop!

I removed the sentiment that comes with the image and replaced it with something more birthday related. Fonts are Concurso Modern and DK Rosy Lee. The background paper is a freebie from Making Cards Magazine and I added purple sequins from the stash.

Although I left the balloon bare I did add glossy accents to his eyes, nose and nails. Spent a lot of time wondering if I need to add some kind of shadow for his fourth limb but in the end decided it was prolly obscured by the front leg.  A bit of a cheat maybe? :)

Loved colouring this up. Another super digi from LMMS! Would you like to see more and perhaps win some? Then check out the link below to visit the challenge blog!

It's Dr Digi time again!

Hello! It's on of those "Second" fridays again and I am back with a new Dr.Digi project!! Here is Katy the Cat Lady!! And yes, yes... I went to town on the textures and patterns like a loon!

The problem is, well it's not really a problem, that I really really enjoy colouring the Dr. Digi characters and sometimes know a skirt HAS to be in a Nana Mauve Plaid and then.....nothing else will do!
This then also happened with handmade cardy, blue rinse curls, check pattern slippers....etc.

I also had to go full furball on her cats...tho three cats is not really enough for a true cat lady, you will have to imagine all the others inside the card! :) This was the first time I had used my fur colouring method on much smaller cats, and it worked fine as soon as I was "a bit more restrained".... that is not my natural mode!

The font is Troutkings and the backing paper is from the stash. I also added some glossy accents to the cats eyes (but not her specs this time, I thought the pencil effect + posca pen worked ok without) and some stickles on their collars.

Here she is in the shop, so you can see the awesome digi!

Completely loved colouring this one! Can you tell? Not sure who I will be giving it to! I have quite a few crazy cat ladies in my life! lol.
