Going to the vets....

Happy Dr.Digi Friday! I have only recently spotted this digi in the shop, and that's pretty amazing, cos I spend a lot of time deciding which furry creature would be fun to colour next, lol! This is "Vera, Vince and Viki - Visit the Vets!"

Here they are in the shop:

And here is my version:

I also used for this card two more Dr.Digi's Products! The Tartan Backing Paper Set and the Pet Sentiment Sheet 01.

Backing Paper:

I used the yellowy orange colour-way but reduced the green element a little and softened the colours. I then printed it straight out onto my 300gsm card stock to turn into my card blank.

Sentiments:

I added the sentiment directly to my topper when I printed it out ready to colour -this makes it all super easy to just 3D foam attach to my card blank, no additional hassles!

As normal it's polychromos on smooth kraft card with some highlights thanks to posca pen.

New bling was from "B and M bargain" when I ventured into one last weekend at my own peril! But yay! bling!

Thanks for joining me today, loved colouring this stamp up, I hope you can tell? I don't envy her though, taking two pets to the vets will be mighty expensive, lol!

Woolly Cats!

Hi Everyone! (X-posted to the Sassy and Crafty Blog! time zones permitting!) Very happy to share with you a special GDT project I have been working on for Sassy and Crafty!

This is one of the kitties from their Thank Mew (4x8) Stamp Set.

Here is the super cute stamp set (this kitty has friends!) -

And here is my version -

I know, you've spotted it's A LOT bigger than the stamp set. Normally it's not ok to (just) digitise a stamped image but lucky for me, I asked and the folks at Sassy and Crafty they said "yes!" I was able to go to town on this chap with my polychromo pencils. If you are a pencil artist and find it hard to work with small stamped images it can never hurt to ask if it's ok for you to enlarge them. Lots of artists will be ok with it, they might even help your out with the process, but always ask! Don't be offended if they say no, and never share your digitised stamps with anyone else!

I created the whole topper on the computer and printed just the kitty/wool part slightly pale (no-lines colouring style) straight onto kraft card. This meant all I had to do was colour it up and then cut it out!

Top inside tip, if you want to try no-lines colouring but get frustrated when you lose the details of the original stamp, always print out a normal dark version to refer back to as you colour. I always do, so I can remember where things are, like whiskers!

I'm not sure why I went for a watermeh-loon ( Always pronounce it just like this, it's going to make you chuckle every time, I assure you.) colour scheme but I did. I love some red and green free from having to be christmassy! Papers are all from Making Cards Magazine. Bling is from the stash. I used a white posca pen for highlights.

The sentiment is also from the stamp set which has a great choice of phrases to use with the kitty stamps!

Why not check out their blog now to see all the other inspo and super new stamp sets at Sassy And Crafty?

My bias is Salem

(Catchupmageddon Post). I wish I knew what this card fold is called, I probably use it a bit too much cos it adds a bit of interest for not too much effort! This was a card for an (original version) Sabrina the Teenage Witch fan!

The colours seemed to work a bit better in real life, but I went with black and orange to make it feel a bit more witchy & halloweeny without stopping it being birthday'ey.

I grabbed lots of screenshots of Salem's finest cat moments and created a photo montage on the PC in Paint Shop Pro.

Font inside is Honey Script, it always reminds me of the font used for Bewitched!

Halloween & Cats!

Back to my normal friday Dr. Digi slot and a bit more Halloween spookiness for you, this time with The WereKitty!

I love this chap and had a great time colouring him up! I also added a Dr.Digi moon behind him as he was a Were-creature, it seemed important. (I actually stole the moon from another digi, but as Dr.Digi does do a very nice moon, I shall link to it here.)

The sentiment is from the Dr.Digi's Halloween Sentiment Sheet, the purrfect match! Just used a plain grey paper from the stash for the background plus a giant purple pearl as the bling.

Really happy with his eyes and head, struggled hard to get the rest to match and I am still toying with the idea to add some whiskers! You know, when you finish a picture, it can be those final tweaks that ruin it? Yes, that!

Had fun, as normal with Dr.Digi Stamps! Here is the original in case you want to see what the stamp looks like -

I love a bit of Halloween colouring to do, great excuse to use purple, orange and green too! Another spooky make will be coming next Dr.Digi friday!

Something different, but still with cats :D

Just wanted to share a little set of drawers I painted for my friend's special birthday! They are all famous cats from the internet, instagram, books etc. I just used normal acrylic paint and I think this box came from a Paperartsy stand at a craft fair, but I'm not definite! (It was quite some time ago!)

I filled each draw with tiny cat themed items, including grumpy cat characters, a mirror, Simon's Cat pin, badge, good luck chime and squishee cat.

I think I would like to do one with cartoon cats on next time, Pusheen, Simon's Cat etc, that would probably be a bit easier too :)

First LBBS DT post!

Hi all, I am cross posting this onto the Little Blue Button Blog this month! Feels like being a proper adult! lol!

For my DT image this month I chose Chatting Charlie! I think it was the first LBB image I saw and loved. It also reminds me a lot of my friend Fiki! So I have been inspired by her kitties when I coloured in the cat!

I used polychromo pencils on kraft card, white posca paint for some highlights, and added Papermania star bling to embellish. The background paper is from Tonic (Mid Summer Mornings, 8x8) and the Font is Courier.

Click on the image below to pop and have a look at her in the shop!

She colours up so nicely! I love her! Defo one of my fav all time digis.

Thanks so much Olga for letting me part of your DT, am really enjoying it!

Entered this for The show us your pussies challenge - hope it counts as sufficiently cattish!

New Haul!

Just wanted to share with you my awesome haul from Crafty Kitty Cat Shop! Super service as normal and am loving my somewhat kitty themed haul! Also had a prize from Fiki's blog - the lovely wedding arch die!  Fiki kindly added some freebies too (That Helen and I shared between us!).

Thinking of You.

I kinda like to use up "spares" if possible, and after the last set of Sympathy/thank you cards I made, I had some spare cats!

The cat die I used is "Leabilities Cats", and I had previous created the watercolour paper they were cut from using my Gansai Tambi Watercolours. The frame was made by scanning in a large sheet of watercoloured paper and then using it in Paint Shop Pro to create a border.
The flower jar was a magazine freebie stamp that I coloured up with copics and added stickles and glossy accents. Pretty much a CAS card I think?

Confessions.

Sometimes it's nice to make a kit card. Shhhh. Don't tell! I really like the twilight kingdom collection from Hunkydory, and finally managed to get the cat topper set to make for a friend who likes cats. It's not super inventive but it was so nice to have decisions made by someone else of what to put on! :)

Apart from the bling, card stock base and matting/layering card, all the other elements are in the topper kit. Just did cutting and sticking, hurrah for an easy make!!

Cat cards!

Recently read someone's blog where they mentioned that they made a prototype of their card before making the final version, phew! I am glad I am not the only one to do this!  Because I am very new to the Eclips I was experimenting with free svg files and used one of a cat for a commissioned card order.

This is the prototype! I decided not to waste the cut and used it to make a card. The background and rainbow strips are using up a background I made on a previous "having a mess" day. I'm pretty sure it was using liquid distress ink refills on glossy cardstock.

So after making that card I edited the cutting file and made the cat a bit more streamlined. I also popped on some text to make it relevant to the customer's order.

This was another "having a mess" background. I used sequins from the stash, stickles on the text and some glossy accents in the eyes.
