Pop-up Minister!

(Catchupmageddon Post). One of my regular customers wanted a pop up box card for her church Minister's 60th Birthday! I had met him a few times and knew where there were a couple of photos of him on the church website, and so created a caricature of him for the pop up!

He is famous for his fabulous waistcoats in all kinds of patterns and colours. I was able to find some photos of his favourites, that he seems to wear most, and added these details to the caricatures.

I altered the facial expression on each mini-minister to add a bit of humour to the box. I printed out 8 mini-ministers and then fussy cut each of them. He does have legs, lol!  I used some sheet music of old school favourite hymns for the backing paper.

I don't know what he thought of it but I was assured he has a very good sense of humour.

As normal the card folded flat for posting and going in the C5 envelope. 

Eighties Pop-up

Hi everyone, sharing a commissioned card today, my customer wanted an all out eighties card!

The recipient of this card is really into eighties music so I took that as the main theme and tracked down some eighties "Smash Hits" covers to use for the sides of my pop-up card.

I decided I wanted to do an eighties envelope too! This was meant to be black, red and grey. I used to have an eighties duvet cover just like that.

On the back I added the sentiment my customer had sent me with a background of magazine covers showing her favourite eighties music artist.  Then wrapped it up flat and sent it to my customer.

Chorale Pop-Up

I think pop-up box cards are always fun to make, but I loved making this one even more than normal :)
It's a Chorale themed 70th birthday card for my friend's Mum.

I spent a lot of time looking for a suitable set of digi's for the choir but in the end gave up and made some of my own. Hand drawn, scanned in, coloured with the PC, printed out, cut out and then accented with white posca pen :)

I had in a "pop up box blank" so only had to matt and layer my musical score paper onto the sections and make the "bars" to support the singers. So it took some time to assemble but nothing too complicated!

Hoping she likes it! And the choir resemble her group a little bit :)

Exploding Box Cupcake Card

Had in a customer request for an exploding box cupcake card. After  a search about for ideas, I found two great blog posts for inspiration -

I mentally combined both tutorials and The Cupcakes Stamp Set (CL158) from Hero Arts to make my pop up box! (And tailored it to a fiftieth birthday and included some white chocolate frosting, which was an important bit.)

One of the flat views for sending. You can also put all the flaps up so the inside is a complete surprise until they open it, but I like this alternative with two flaps down too.

The paper set was a freebie from Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine called The Funky Hand Collection.
Die cut Happy Birthday letters were a metal die from Die'sire Classiques.
