Cupcake!

Hi everyone! So much time to colour and no end of gorgeous digis from Sweet Escape Digis! Have you been to their shop to see all the lovely options? I really enjoyed colouring up this Cupcake with Cherries and Bow.

This is polychromo pencils on kraft card. Background paper from Making Cards Magazine. A few touches of white posca pen to give highlights. Bling from the stash.

(Tempted? Make sure to check in the Sweet Escape Facebook Group before you make your purchase, there's often an offer on!)

Here is the digi in the shop:

Here is my version:

I decided to add some glossy accents on the cherries after I took these pics, and might add some sprinkles later too, lol!

Fonts are Bernadette Rough and Bodoni MT Black as an outline, coloured with pencils inside.

Thanks for joining me today! I have really enjoyed GDT'ing for Sweet Escape, hopefully some more to come soon!

Baked with Love.

Been dying to use this stamp set by Lawn Fawn called "Baked With Love" (Helen got it for me for Christmas! Crafting friends are the best!). It's ridiculously cute! I saw this gorgeous card by Chari Moss and decided to use the basic layout to make a card using the same set. Being very careful to credit her on this, her work is amazeballs.

Stamps - Lawn Fawn Baked with Love
Coloured with Copics.
Papers: Lawn Fawn 6x6 Perfectly Plaid Fall.

Added: Stickles and Glossy Accents.
( A good match to this Lawn Fawn font, that I used inside the card, is CAC Pinafore.)

Mini Review!

This card also gave me the chance to use my new "Press to Impress" stamping platform from crafts-too.com. It's basically a much cheaper version of a Misti, but seems just as awesome.
Here are a couple of photos of how I used it for this card.

Placed all the elements on the section of the card that I wanted to stamp, including the clear cling stamp greeting, straight and central, where I wanted it to go.

Then I closed the lid to pick up the stamps. Inked them up in black ink and then closed the lid again to stamp the greeting! This is brilliant for so many reasons, and reduces the "is it straight" angst and the "omg a bit didnt stamp well, can stamping it perfectly over the top to fill in the gap?". I am sure other crafters must have faced that a few times! It's not just me is it?

And the result! And as you can expect, it stamped perfectly first time, and I didn't need to redo it, but if I had, it would have been easy peasy! :) I am sold on this gadget. Worth every penny. (I am not handy enough to make one from dollar/pound store products but there are plenty of people that do if you want to track down how to make one yourself!).

Bit of a kit!

Needed a speedy anniversary card for a customer so cracked out a docrafts kit I had in the stash! It is an A5 decoupage kit from Docrafts called Bellisima-Cupcakes.

I haven't made a kit card for a long time, but really enjoyed making this. I actually used every single part in the kit aswell as the images on the packaging! Waste not want not! :) Not used to making things in pastels, so this was a complete change from the norm! :)

Added some stickles and some sakura shimmer pen :)

Hop Day Six!

Another day hopping! And if you would like to take part and win some free digi's please visit THIS POST and read what you have to do! Nothing complicated, all very easy and a great chance of winning something!

I decided to have a go at colouring some of the digi's the Knitty Kitty Digi Design Team chose and test them out! I like to know how difficult an image is to colour so I can make improvements if needed. The first one I chose to do was Kitty's "Cupcake Kitty".

You can win Cupcake Kitty by visiting FT Fit Kitty's Blog HERE.
If you'd like to purchase it rather than hopping, it's in the shop HERE.

Well, I can report that it was good fun to colour in! I just made it into a simple CAS card. I used polychromo pencils on kraft card and a white posca pen for highlights. The font is Mister Sirloin. Sequins were from the stash. It's a Valentine's card for my significant other :) Yep, I am safe to post it ahead of time as it's incredibly unlikely he will check my blog! lol.

Exploding Box Cupcake Card

Had in a customer request for an exploding box cupcake card. After  a search about for ideas, I found two great blog posts for inspiration -

http://dianebarnes.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/cupcake-pop-up-card-in-box-with-template.html
and
http://monicas-passions.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/my-third-and-fourth-paperietreats.html
Which also links to an excellent tutorial video on youtube.

The card I created - front view once popped.

I mentally combined both tutorials and The Cupcakes Stamp Set (CL158) from Hero Arts to make my pop up box! (And tailored it to a fiftieth birthday and included some white chocolate frosting, which was an important bit.)

Side view so you can see how the construction works.

One of the flat views for sending. You can also put all the flaps up so the inside is a complete surprise until they open it, but I like this alternative with two flaps down too.

The paper set was a freebie from Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine called The Funky Hand Collection.
Die cut Happy Birthday letters were a metal die from Die'sire Classiques.
