Baby Shower!

Love this super cute stamp set from Mama Elephant - Fly with me!

I was trying to make a pink and blue pastel baby shower card but all the colours came out much stronger than intended, lol!

I created a background with distress oxides and then made my own raindrop stencil and added texture with some glittery paste.

I coloured the stamps with copics and cut them out. I believe this stamp set has a matching set of dies tho, if you are tempted? I attached them to the card with 3D foam.

I added some diecut clouds (from Joy, might be my most used die set?) and a piece of vellum with my text on. Font is Breamcatcher. I buy printable vellum especially for this, now I know it exists! I have been wondering why I can't print on normal vellum for years, doh! :D

Invading Pandas

(Catchupmaggedon post again) On the theme of Pandas (see yesterdays post) I remembered I also used the Little Panda Agenda Stamps from Mama Elephant for a Get Well Soon Card.

I really enjoyed an excuse to finally use some of my oriental stash. I bought a lot of it when I first started to craft but I found only crafters really liked it as an aesthetic and no-one ever commissioned a card where it would be suitable to use it. I have tonnes of lovely origami papers, the dark background paper is one from my stash.

I've used this layout before with vastly different colours and a normal bunting die over the left corner. To replace the bunting element, I wanted to make a more lanternish look, with the little pandas inside. The pandas were coloured with copics.

On a second card I also tried a way of linking the panda bunting/lanterns with just hessian string because I wasn't sure how well the golden rope and bling worked on my first card. I preferred the second version.

The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts called Messages with Flourish. Used some fancy edged scissors for the wobbly bits, lol.

If you're feeling a bit cruddy today, I hope you feel better soon too!

Bamboo!

(Yet Another Catchupmageddon Post) Hi again folks!  A quick post today sharing a couple of panda cards with you! I love all the Agenda Stamp Sets from Mama Elephant and I can never resist a panda! One of my fav sets from last year is the Little Panda Agenda set!

I saw these bamboo straws in The Range and knew immediately I wanted to use them on a card! I have a really old die and stamp set from Sizzix & Hero Arts (which were a series called Framelits) and this stamp is from the Fern Set. I always think it looks pretty bamboo like!

So I printed out a topper that had the sentiment and the swirly line on. I then stamped onto that line three Pandas. I coloured the pandas with copics. I then stamped the "fern" in distress oxide and used the die in the set to cut it out and then added it to the topper. I trimmed the bamboo straws to match the topper height. I added some bling to the corner of the topper I rounded a corner on.

Thanks for joining me on another catch up!

Pandaversary

(Catchupmageddon Post). Always love an excuse to use the Little Panda Agenda set from Mama Elephant! Defo one of my fav sets from 2019! ( I got mine from Dies to Die For if you are interested.)

One of my friends asked me to make a small set of cards to celebrate her 30 year friendaversary with her two besties.

I actually found doing something this CAS, and this clean, pretty difficult! I perhaps had approx ten attempts, even the tiniest smudge looked HUGE on such a CAS card, so had to keep starting again from scratch.

My friend chose some text to print inside the card too. I actually ended up with three of the cards so she could keep one for herself as well.

Font is Courier New. I heat embossed the pandas using clear embossing powder immediately after stamping. I created a complete layout for the A6 card including the text, so it was a one layer card. (I left a gap for stamping the pandas).

More of the Penguins

I love making penguin cards, so yet another penguin christmas card catch-up post! This set is a new one I bought for my 2019 Xmas cards, it's Little Penguin Agenda from Mama Elephant. They are beyond cute!

And I made this layout for a batch of my christmas cards and commissions.

As well as the penguin agenda set I used a set from Cardio called "Branching out" to make the winter foliage behind the penguins. I used Distress Oxides to stamp and Nuvo jewel drops for the berries. Penguins are coloured in copics and fonts are Dacquoise and Deliquente Alt I.

From the stash...

The unused stamp set stash is getting a bit embarrassing, so I thought I should crack on and use another hoarded stamp set that I love! This stamp set is from Mama Elephant and is called Me & My Yeti. (I had my copy from Diestodiefor).

I made two versions, using up almost all of the set between the two cards. I stenciled a background using distress oxides and then cut out and added the elements which were coloured with copics. The greeting is from a magazine freebie set and the background paper is from a Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid 6x6 Set.

To add a bit of depth and scenery I used a Joy die called "Mery's Christmas Tree and House Border". I also added some shadow, white posca pen highlights and some stickles glitter.

Happy Good Friday!

Hi everyone, just sharing a couple of snaps of some Easter cards I made for a customer! Used three sets of Bunny stamps (kindly on loan from Helen).
  • Craftin Desert Divas - Somebunny
  • Gerda Steiner - Hoppiness GSD570
  • Mama Elephant - Pix Favourites

The paper is from two Perfectly Plaid Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper pads. I used a stamp by Neat and Tangled called Sunburst with Distress Oxides and Inks for the background. The grass is made using Grassy Border Die also from Lawn Fawn. Bunnies are coloured with Copics and stickles.
The greetings are from a Docrafts set called Some Bunny Loves You. (That I have had quite a long time!)

Pix's Favorites.

Helen very kindly stamped me some of her new Mama Elephant set, Pix's Favorites. They were great fun to use and colour, I went with copics and tried a new colouring style, but I find it hard not to keep adding shadow! :)

I also tried a few new background techniques with the distress inks. I used water directly onto a blended background but moved the water to resemble clouds. The middle one is just a blend over a Memory Box Birch Trees stencil, and in the third one I filled in the background, then used the stencil and removed ink rather than added it. Makes a kind of spooky background I like! :)

So this is the watercolour cloud background, the grass is Grass Border by Lawn Fawn.

This is using a stencil in a more traditional way, tho oddly I don't think I have ever used a stencil like this before, normally I use it for paste and sprays.

Final spooky background. The sentiments on all the cards are from Hero Arts and are called "Messages with flourish". (CL738)

Love these stamps, they are so cute! :) Nice to have the chance to make some cards just for fun, and not for an order, don't get the chance much these days :)
