Christmas Tipple

Good Morning (possibly?) and welcome back to my blog! I really quite enjoyed being a bit Christmassy with this one, so early, lol! This digi is from Dr.Digi's House of Stamps and is called "Rescue Squad".

He is coloured with polychromo pencils on kraft card. I wanted to colour him up in a snowy scene ready for a Xmas card. I swear that the ribbon looks straight on the real thing, lol!

I added white gel pen, white posca pen and star dust stickles to the card after I had finished with the pencils.

Font is Honey Script. I used Centura Pearl Cherry Pearlescent cardstock for the main card base. Ribbons from the stash.

Snowglobes.

I think snowglobes are a bit of a crafting trend at the moment, and I was really pleased when my friend Helen cut me a few out using her Sweet Dixie Snowglobe die!

As before with my christmas cards, I blended Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans Distress Inks and flicked them with water to make a snowy sky. I added some additional snow using a white Posca Paint Pen. I then put this behind a white die cut village from Sweet Dixie - Here Comes Santa Set.

I coloured and re-added the doors. Then I layered the sky, village and Snowglobe and stuck a santa (also from the die set) and greeting to the base. Fonts are Embassy BT and Chocolate Box.

The background papers are from Lawn Fawn 6x6 Pad - Perfectly Plaid Fall.

Farming Sim Christmas

Another Christmas Card for a young man. Last time I asked he was into his Farm Simulator game so I am hoping the snowy add-on pack version of the game would be meaningful to him! :) I found some screenshots from the game and converted them into a 3D decoupage image.

Papers from magazines and stash, mounted on mirri card (rare occasion!) and icicle diecut I purchased ready-done several eons ago. I added a bit of stickles to the snow too!

A Day For Daisies, More Penguins!

I love the A Day For Daisies, Penguin Digis! I was lucky enough to be able to use "Penguin Flight" as part of the Design Team for The Crafty Addicts and I ended up buying "Penguin Snowman" too because I couldn't resist it! :)

I made quite a few of these and personalised them for my customers. The background is blended distress inks, flicked with water and then added Posca Paint snow. The image is coloured with Copic pens and then stickles and more Posca Paint dots. The eyes are small black gemstone bling. The font is Ambrosia.

Village In A Box, Tando Kit, Workshop taught by Helen Haines.

Thought I would share some photos of my Village in a Box, now it is finally finished! This was a brilliant course that Helen (From Craft Magic Crafters) ran, last year? Was it really so long a go? Gosh. I am slow to post pics...

Though I assembled this mainly in the workshop I didn't have much time to add all the details I wanted....two hours is never enough! I purchased some die-cut icicles that I added to the houses and to the outer edge of the box. The model trees were anchored down using air-dry clay. The penguins were purchased from a toy shop! And the rosette originally intended for on top of the box ended up on the ramp/flap displaying the greeting when the box was opened.

The main change I made at home was that I extended the base of the box to include a hidden compartment for the battery pack. The underneath of the box still has a hexagon of snowy paper as a covering but there is a tiny slot for you to reach the on and off switch for the lights! Whilst two houses got a full set of lights, the final house had a few inside, to make it look like someone might be at home.




I did purchase a Momma Penguin for inside the box too but the scale was just all wrong, so she is now a figure head/handle on the lid! I used the extra die-cut icicle strips to disguise the false bottom of the box.

All done! Don't think it'll ever be for sale, too much time and energy spent to work out what the price would be :) Also....model trees are darned expensive!
