Enamelling Workshop

Just wanted to tell you about the brilliant enamelling workshop I attended at the Lappelli Enamelling Studio. Luckily for me, my friend Toni arranged it as a surprise for my birthday!

We did an hour course at her studio and I was super impressed, really well organised and plenty of help and support. Am happy with the outcome too.

I did  some trees, set against the copper background (Which is what you enamel on to) and Toni did a black enamel tile and then put a coloured waterlilly on top. (The strange white blob is the reflection and is not on the actual tile!)

Teresa mounted the pieces onto slate and wood for us, so we could go home and put them up straight away.

Crafty Addicts Blog April Challenge (Two of Two!)

Time for the second challenge in April over on The Crafty Addicts Challenge Blog. This time the theme is Anything Goes/Use a Ribbon.

The two super sponsors this challenge are Whoopsi Daisy (offering two sheets of images, with 2 to 4 images per sheet) and Scrappers Delight (offering 3 free digis).

I chose to use an image from a sheet provided by Whoopsi Daisy for my challenge inspiration card.  I used polychromo pencils on kraft card and added some bling and blue ribbon to make sure I was properly themed!

John Hughes

Commissioned card for a friend who loves eighties John Hughes films. Suppose the most famous eighties ones are Weird Science (1985), The Breakfast Club (1985) , and Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) though he also went on to make Home Alone and other comedies in the nineties...

So same style fold as the last film card I made, a basic fold one way and then a much smaller card folded backwards inside. Space to write the greeting on the inside of the front fold, and small personalised greeting inside the smaller card. And I made some old style 3D glasses for Macaulay Culkin :)

Boy Card :D

So I went a bit minimal for a change, and used the sunken diecut style with some uber blingy papers. I love these special papers but it's hard to find a use for them, and impossible to take a photo! This photo had the least glare...

I made two the same(ish) so could take an inside and outside pic of the card. This is a super cool electric guitar die from Leabilities. It also embosses the guitar as you cut it, but the embossing didn't really show up on these papers. The papers are sticky backed so it was quick to assemble once the parts were cut out.

Just couldn't make up my mind whether to add a greeting and realised I'd sat for fifteen minutes thinking about it! So I took action and went without! :)

Chorale Pop-Up

I think pop-up box cards are always fun to make, but I loved making this one even more than normal :)
It's a Chorale themed 70th birthday card for my friend's Mum.

I spent a lot of time looking for a suitable set of digi's for the choir but in the end gave up and made some of my own. Hand drawn, scanned in, coloured with the PC, printed out, cut out and then accented with white posca pen :)

I had in a "pop up box blank" so only had to matt and layer my musical score paper onto the sections and make the "bars" to support the singers. So it took some time to assemble but nothing too complicated!

Hoping she likes it! And the choir resemble her group a little bit :)

Update!

The blog may be a bit quiet this week. I've been making lots of cards but the kind that can't be posted online straight away, so although I may appear dormant, I am infact quite busy :) I also have a large batch of wedding invites to make this week too so that also is keeping me productive.

I have been doing a spot of colouring in the evening though so thought I would share with you another of my adult colouring postcard cards ( from the Pretty Animal Postcards book ).

Coloured with Polychromo pencils and added striped washi tape :)

Clear Trading Card Pockets! Not very exciting.....

Very pleased (Sadly? ;) ) with my new trading card pockets my kind friend Helen gave me :D Means I can finally organise my little stamps into pockets!

I'm not sure if I confessed what I wanted them for though, she might be expecting a fabulous pocket letter to appear instead...oops..?!?.

Most of these stamps are courtesy of Craft Stamper, and I had a good sort and ditched a few which means some empty pockets left to fill... won't take long I am sure :)
