At the Beach - Stepper Cards

I've really being admiring people's use of stepper cards recently so thought I would have a go at it myself. This is a very simple three step card base, but it does add a lot to the fanciness of the card. I did two versions of this card, one for me to give to my Mum-in-law and the other one was a commissioned card. I'm writing this in February and scheduling this post for the end of May, because I actually finished a commission card 3 months early! Makes me sound organised :)

Both cards were made using elements from a Kanban seaside kit and stamps that were freebies with a magazine I think, alas I don't have any details of which one. Laser cut buttons were all purchased from the NEC. I added an additional child to the black silhouette card for Lisa as she has twins. All colouring done with distress inks used as water colours.

Kitty Star Sign Set

Super pleased to have a new digistamp set to launch today! It's the astrologically themed kitties in the Star Sign Set! Knitty Kitty fans may recognise the art work from the mug designs I produced for christmas, but I have now converted them into a set of digistamps for you to use in your own projects.

Here is a combo picture showing them all digitally coloured, with link the Etsy listing for the set.

Mugs are £5, please contact me if you are interested in purchasing one :)

Brushos!

Just wanted to update you with some images from my initial foray into Brushos! I wanted to make some background images to use on cards, using white emboss resists and watercolourish backgrounds.

So this is a shot after the heat embossing, adding dry brushos and then spraying water on top. The droplets can be dabbed away from the embossed areas afterwards. Stamp: Sheena Douglass, A little bit sketchy, falling feathers.

Same stamp set but this time I sprayed with water first and then dropped the brushos in tiny amounts on top! I like this better but it is hard to control the amount of powder you drop!

Also tried a more careful measured approach using this Hero Arts CG248 Large Solid Flower, and I think it works fine with a less intense look too.

Really happy with them, going to watch some more tutorials on how to use them now I grasp what they are about! :)

First of the May Crafty Addicts Blog Challenges!

Hi everyone, back again to let you know there is a new challenge live on the Crafty Addicts Challenge Blog.

Challenge 15 - Anything Goes/Add a Sentiment!

Two fab sponsors this challenge, Morgan's Artworld offering 3 free digis to the winner. And Melonheadz, offer one whole bundle to the winner. So double the chance of winning!

I have used the "Laura's Crazy Cat Lady" bundle from Melonheadz and made a birthday card for my friend! I'm hoping she doesn't see it before she gets in a few days time :) These are fab to colour, love making a little scene and as normal, printing it on kraft card, and using polychromo's to colour.

 Close up of the kitties.

New Home!

Card I made for my friend Norms, for her new home :D

So a little bit inspired by "Up" but using a balloon die by Joy and a silhouette house cut out by me! Background is distress reinkers on glossy card stock. Clouds by Joy too.

Think I can confirm I am a fan of Joy dies, they cut out brilliantly.  Because the die is meant to show the embossing, which on the black was a bit indistinct, I actually cut out around the balloons a little.

Condolences.

Sad news meant making a sympathy card for a friend.

Background made with distress reinkers on glossy card. Silhouette images stamped in Staz-on. Stamps by Sheena Douglass -  A Little Bit Sketchy, Sihouette Wildflowers. Added stickles in purple and used my white posca pen for the spots.

New Home Card

Commissioned New Home card! A very specific order, with lots of details, so I drew and coloured an image to fit all the different things to be included.

I then added a sentiment and a thought bubble (as requested) to the dog. I went with a very simple layout as I thought it looked busy enough! I do hope they liked it :)

Retirement Card.

Brief for commissioned card : Richard is retiring from work. He will be working on his barn conversion and also going skiiing, hiking, and sailing. And a pop up inside wishing him a good retirement. :)

Main image is hand drawn and coloured with copics.  DIY border stamp borrowed from Helen, I can't remember who made it.  Wooden background paper from Joy.

Inside, a pop up using the same DIY border stamp, but scanned in and resized.
