New card and new digi! :)

Seem to have been waiting ages to post about this new digi! I created it to use on my SIL's birthday card, so have had to wait til she received it to post! I am not a patient person :)

This is the card that I made for her, I went for a wrap around image, so on the front and back! Unsurprisingly I printed the digistamp onto the kraft card and then coloured it with Polychromos pencils, then added a greeting. I designed the stamp to be a new home image hence the stamp is called "Home is where the cat is" but she is interested in camping so it was fine for her birthday card too!

HA CG248

Funny post title, but I think this stamp should be the star of this blog post!  I'm loving the "large solid flower" from Hero Arts, CG248. I've used it for so many things already and I've still got lots more ideas to try too.

After using it with brushos I tried it with distress inks to form a patterned background. I used silver ink with blues and greens and then printed greetings on coloured vellum and mounted them on top. The font is "Blessed Day" which is my favourite font at the moment. Is is weird to have a favourite font?

As with all Hero Arts Cling stamps, it stamps brilliantly, even when I had to use some low quality ink to touch up the silver distress ink (which is a bit fickle).

One Under Purr!

Excited to have a new digistamp release today - "One Under Purr" the newest stamp in the Knitty Kitty Digis Time Out Collection. And I'm very lucky to have had three super versions of it coloured by some of the KKD Design Team members :)

And here are the coloured versions!

Silver Wedding Anniversary Commission - Part 2.

This is the second card I made for my recent 25th Anniversary Card order. I had purchased the laser cut tree at the Midland Motorcycle Museum Craft Fair in our last shopping escapade, and I thought it went really well on a kraft card base stock.

I used a Joy die to take clouds out from the background paper, and then used the cut-outs to make another layer of clouds. The two birds were painted silver. The dates were supplied by my customer to feature on the card. Font is "Boys R Gross".

Close up of the birds, and the laser cut tree.

Silver Wedding Anniversary Commission Part 1.

I've recently had a commission for three silver wedding anniversary cards, so I am scheduling this post to go up a week after their anniversary.

This is the first card I made, using the Creative Expression "Delicate Garden Frame" die by Sue Wilson. It cuts excellently and I am very impressed.  Individual flower and butterfly come with the set.

Had a rethink afterwards and decided to colour the number to be silver too, and far prefered it. I just used silver acrylic paint in the end, and on the thickers stickers, it looked like it had some nice texture.

Background paper was actually recycled packaging from some cosmetics that I liked and saved. Numbers were thicker stickers. Gems and ribbon from stash.

Challenge 20 - Anything Goes/Friends on The CA Blog Challenge

Back again with Challenge updates! Tis the season of sponsoring challenges and I am once again sponsoring a Crafty Addicts Challenge, but this time it's the blog!

The theme for this one is Anything Goes/Friends and I have used three more images from the The Kitty Star Sign Set for a very good friend of mine who is a Sagittarian. I am thinking star sign cards are really most suitable for friend types :)

This is Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn. The Kitty Star Sign Set contains a kitty for each of the astrological signs.

This is polychromo pencils on kraft card ( Surprise, Surprise!) and I 3D foamed it to a card blank and added some green enamel dots and a diecut circle. The Font is "Boyz R Gross" for reference.

Close up of the card.

Am replacing the sponsor badge with my Hanging Cats Banner and a link to the KKD Facebook Page. Join usssssssss......

Challenge No.9 on the Crafty Addicts Facebook Challenge

Have the great pleasure of Knitty Kitty Digis sponsoring this months Crafty Addicts Facebook Challenge! The theme is "Anything Goes/Use a Sentiment" and I have used one of my own images :) Nice to get a chance to colour them up :)

So this is three images from The Kitty Star Sign Set - Leo, Virgo and Libra, to form a birthday card for a special Virgoan in my life! Yes, it really is a word :) The Star Sign Set features a kitty version of all the star signs.

I used polychromo pencils on kraft card and then added a die cut circle and pink enamel dots. The font is called " Boyz R Gross"... which they are ;)

Close up of the card.

I normally pop the sponsor badges here, but that seems a little weird! lol. But I will pop my hanging cat banner and link it to the Knitty Kitty Facebook Group Page, that you should probably join now. Go on, you know you want to....

Brusho Resist Cards

Back in May I posted some pictures of my results using brushos and emboss resists.

So I've now made these into a set of cards, using the results as my backgrounds and adding text banners and watercolour feathers using the same Sheena Douglass Falling Feathers set. I really enjoyed making them and I love embossing and the brushos, so I think I shall probably be trying the same theory with different stamps and colours!

The four cards I made, A5 size. Matted onto black card, with a few sequin/enamel embellishments.

Think this one was the most successful, colours and layout wise.

Challenge 19 on the Crafty Addicts Challenge Blog

Am pleased to be able to share today my DT inspiration for Challenge 19 on the CA Blog with the theme "Anything Goes/Say it with Flowers".

This is my card using "Owl of Mine" by A Day for Daisies who are also sponsoring the challenge and offering a prize of a $12 voucher.

As normal I used my polychromos on kraft card, then added some stickles and sequins. It's mounted on a 7x5" kraft card blank. Font is "Blessed Day".

Close up of the card.

One Small Step!

I was very lucky to win a Dr.Digi competition earlier in the year and "One Small Step" was one of the digistamps I chose as my prize. Finally have given it to my very good friend for her birthday so can post it here now!

It's polychromo pencils on kraft card (gosh yes, I know, are you bored of it now?) and I added the stars in after with a white posca pen. I tried hard to make a "galaxy" effect background for him using the pencils and added in details for the flag and the reflection in his helmet. It's a super cute stamp to colour in :) Font is East Coast Stationery.
