Second Wedding Card

I made two cards for the couple getting married last weekend, here is the second one. I went for white on white, my first time! I combo'd alot of dies to make this!

So, the main part of the easel is a huge combo of dies, on some textured background papers ( hard to see!). The flowers are mainly from Wild Orchid. The two doves top right are wooden laser cuts, painted. The pearls are from the stash. The ribbon is a white version of the cream ribbon we used on their actual wedding invites. (Off ebay).

As you can tell, it was super hard to get a good photo, but here it is laid flat. Its 20cm x 20cm, so pretty large!

Dies used -
Tonic - Wreath
Joy - (Background landscape) Mery's Christmas tree and house border.
Marianne designs - Bike LR0394
Die'sire - Traditional Bunting
Sue Wilson - Maidenhair Ferns
Nestabilities - Hearts
IO Dies - Birch and Cardinal DIE079-U
And the couple were a loan from a friend, not sure what the die is called, but it also has a stone arch!
***Edit - It's Crafts Too Presscut Die - Bride and Groom PCD14***

Inside the card, to make the rest for the easel to latch onto, I cut out three dogs, also in white, two Frenchies and a Pug! Their dogs are called Esmae, Bert and Ted! More lace and flowers as above.

New Home!

Card I made for my friend Norms, for her new home :D

So a little bit inspired by "Up" but using a balloon die by Joy and a silhouette house cut out by me! Background is distress reinkers on glossy card stock. Clouds by Joy too.

Think I can confirm I am a fan of Joy dies, they cut out brilliantly.  Because the die is meant to show the embossing, which on the black was a bit indistinct, I actually cut out around the balloons a little.

Retirement Card.

Brief for commissioned card : Richard is retiring from work. He will be working on his barn conversion and also going skiiing, hiking, and sailing. And a pop up inside wishing him a good retirement. :)

Main image is hand drawn and coloured with copics.  DIY border stamp borrowed from Helen, I can't remember who made it.  Wooden background paper from Joy.

Inside, a pop up using the same DIY border stamp, but scanned in and resized.

Red Red Wine.

Commission card featuring a red wine element and a chance to use a set of stamps by Sheena Douglass, A Little Bit Scenic Collection - Provence!

I really like this set, but haven't had the chance to use it much before now. I stamped the images and then coloured them with copics. I glossy accented the grapes. I mounted them onto the background image with 3D foam. The wooden texture paper is a set from Joy! Used Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to colour the cardstock around the edge.

Sew Special Sheila.

Commissioned card for Sheila's 80th birthday. Theme - machine sewing! :) I continually try to make an orange and green combo card, and I don't know why I keep doing it! It's really tough I think, and I'm not sure I succeeded with this card either. It's hard to get the right balance, but as I was matching the backing paper from the start off, it kind of had to be tackled.

Ingredients:
  • Elements from Hero Arts Sew Crafty Digikit
  • Papermania/Do Crafts Happy Days 12x12 pad
  • Chipboard Mannequins from Craftworkcards.com
  • Joy Wood texture paper bloc (15cmx30cm)
  • Die cut paper embellishment pack from Paperchase.
  • Distress Inks, White ink, Heart pins, Card, buttons, thread - all from the stash.

Close up detail. Singer Sewing Machine image from Google, recoloured using Paint Shop Pro.  Cotton reels, Scissors and buttons all elements from Hero Arts Digikit.

Christmas Card Workshop, back in November!

This might seem like a very late post, but honestly there is a reason. Although I would love to show you what we made that day, on the day - I can't if the cards might be received by people that might see them in advance. Now we are safely past Christmas, I can assume most have been seen and I am free to post!

We actually made 12 cards on the day, so here are a few of them. Most of them had room to add extra personalisation after, so these are the cards as I used them, rather than made them originally.

Distress Inks masked background with flicked water to make snow effect. Die cut sleigh and trees. Stamped fairy lights with added bling. 3D foam mounted greeting.

Cuttlebug embossing folder snowflake background. Die cut snowmen. Spotty ribbon and tiny bling.

Artemio Type F Pinguins with Sledge Wooden Stamp. (not sure if that's just a typo, or really Pinguins with an I?) Coloured with Polychromo pencils. HA greeting stamp. Stamped snowflakes in white. Mounted on Kraft Card.

Die cut sleigh, icicles and birch trees. Distress ink sky background with water flicked on to make snow. Joy wood paper as background.

Die cut snowflake frame and landscape scene. Sky using a white correcter pen on blue paper. Embossed background with added bling. 3D foam mounted greeting.

Snowflakes die cut from top layer. 3D foam mounted onto white card blank. Same die cut snowflakes from red card set inside the snowflake shaped gaps. Add bling and stamped sentiment.

French Pug.

A commissioned card featuring a stylish french lady and her pug. I was so pleased to find this pug stamp at the NEC. It's by Craft Stash Limited and a set called "We Love Dogs." There is also a very nice dachshund, a frenchie and a shaggy looking terrier! Super useful!

Dandelion Frame

I've had this stamp since Christmas waiting to be used and finally I've got round to it! (Cross posted to Crafty Magic)

Hero Arts stamps are my favourite physical stamps (as opposed to digital.) I'm even still using wooden backed ones from my crafty past! Still trying for a One Layer design which I almost managed on the one and failed on the other. (Managed to stamp the frame upside-down, don't laugh)

So stamps used -
Dandelion Frame CG153 Hero Arts.
Greeting is by Hot Off The Press (rather old stamp, but I like it.)
Butterflies are, I think, a recent docrafts set.

The wood paper is from a brilliant pad by Joy Crafts called Wood Texture Paper Block. Thought it would be super useful for boy cards too.
