No.1 Digistamp!

Hi all! I hope you have been enjoying the Dr.Digi's House of Stamps 7th birthday celebration on the Facebook Page? I am happy to finally post my inspo for this week and also share that the No.1 best selling digi of all time is Weekend Walter!

Here is the final Top 7!

#7 Knitty Nora
#5 Hole in one Hal
#4 Mobility Malcolm
#3 Dunderton Decorators
#2 Anglin' Andy
#1 Weekend Walter

And here he is! Fully prepped for a relaxing weekend!

Here he is in the shop -

And here is my version of him -

I coloured him with polychromos and added a few details, like stubble, hairy chest, borrowed ladies diaphanous leopard print dressing gown.... basically I had a thoroughly good time dressing him in animal prints, lol!

I used this fabulous backing paper from Making Cards Magazine (May 2019) and mounted the topper with some 3D foam tape. No embellishments this time, I thought he paper was busy enough. Added some white posca paint to the eyes to finish.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you guessed Weekend Walter and can look forward to an awesome prize from Dr.Digi's soon! Check the facebook page to see how you got on?

Drag Queen!

Hi folks! Back again with a GDT post for Sweet Escape Digis! I love how on-trend this Drag Queen digi image is! I decided she looked most like RuPaul, so decided to colour her in a classic RuPaul lewk!

***Newsflash! I like to keep you updated with the latest offer for the Sweet Escape Digis shop, so details of the current one are - 40% off your basket using the code CELEBRATE40. If you are reading this a long time after I posted it, always pop to the Sweet Escape Facebook Page to get details of the latest offer before you buy! Top tip ;)***

I chose RuPaul's Drag Race expressions and catchphrases for the outside and inside the card. If you need them explained you might not be the intended audience ;) (Font is Dacquoise)

Here is the digistamp that I worked with (in the shop) -

And here is my version of her -

I am fully aware she also looks a bit like Rihanna (It was much more Rihanna than Ru at one point, I hope I rescued it! I love Rihanna but she sooooo wasn't what I was aiming for, lol!)

I really enjoyed two huge challenges with doing this.  A completely new skin tone and a sequined sparkly dress. RuPaul is of mixed ethnicity ( African-American, African, French and Swiss-German) and has amazing golden brown skin! I normally go with something rather more pale and pink, but it's great to be a bit more inclusive!

I added some bling to the dress after trying to replicate some sequin sparkle. I used white gel pen and white posca pen, then just a touch of stickles at the end to get in the hints of other colours.

Hope you enjoyed this card today, and appreciate something a bit different! I love RuPaul's Drag Race and you can learn a lot from it, if you are a colourist, based on how the queens do their makeup!

New release Lilly!

Hi everyone, back with a new release post for Little Blue Button and this is the fabulous Miss Lilly and a cat! :D

Isn't she cute? Love the kitty too, he was fun to colour :D I used polychromos on kraft card as usual and added white posca pen dots to her bow and dress.

I picked up the enamel bling from Hobbycrafts last time I went in, was in the sale! It's from the La-de-dah range.

Went for a simple sentiment and simple font - Zolano Serf BTN. I added a yellow pearl bling to the one corner. The paper is actually from a christmas freebie set from one of the crafts mags.

Thanks very much for visiting and reading this far. If you want to see more projects and more stamps from Little Blue Button, why not check out the facebook group?

Little Girl, with flowers!

Hi all, this is the final installment from the four part set for Sweet Escape Digis, and this is "Little Girl".

***Newsflash - Right now there are two fab offers in the Sweet Escape Digis shop you should know about. One offer is 50% off your purchase if you use the coupon code "HELLO50" within the next week. The second is five digis for $5! (Check out the shop listing for details.)You can't use both at the same time, but both are incredible deals!***

Isn't she pretty? :) I wanted to make a feature of her flowers, so I took a zoomed in picture of her bouquet and then pasted it into two strips either side of the central panel. When I placed the little girl I overlapped one of the edges slightly, to give her the appearance of being slightly 3D. I tried my best to colour the two strips to match the parts in the main digi they related to.

Also when I printed the image out I added some text using the font Teutonic. This could easily be a single layer card but I prefer to mount it as a topper and use the layering as a border.

When I finished the colouring (with polychromo pencils), I used some stickles to highlight the centre of the flowers. I added some glossy accents to her earrings so they catch the light. And finally I added some white posca pen highlights to her eyes.
This is her in close up:

And here she is in the shop if you fancy colouring her (Remember, especially whilst the deals are on, she is part of the four part set featuring all the Sweet Escape Digis I have coloured recently) :

I have really enjoyed doing this set of four stamps, they were all fun to colour, and I shall quickly use them up sending them to friends and family! Thank you Sweet Escape Digis for letting me create with and share your super stamps!

The other three images are blogged here:

2 Cute Ink Week - Final Post

Final post of "2 Cute Ink Week"! Hope you have enjoyed a change in the blog scenery and preview of a new stamp company! I have really enjoyed colouring Heidi's images and would like to say a big thank you!

So here is the final chap I coloured - Snow Time Bear! He is the epitome of "totes adorbs".

He was so therapeutic to colour...and yes, I went a bit obsessive on the knitted effects, but it was sooo fun! :)

I used polychromo pencils on kraft card, as normal, with spots of white posca pen and stickles!  The font is PT Barnum BT.  I also bobbed a bit of glossy accents on his eyes and nose, always ups the cute factor, for some reason! :)

If you would like to by this adorable chap, he is available in the 2 Cute Ink Shop Here.

2 Cute Ink Week Part 2.

Back again with "2 Cute Ink Week" and Winter Fox! I admit.... I fell in love with his tail.

I decided it was time to start on christmas and doesn't he make an amazing christmas card?? I love foxes... they are actually good at any time of year! It was so easy to go to town on his tail! So many different ideas for colouring it but I went for major volume and slightly wiry.... did I achieve it?

I used polychromo pencils on kraft, and bit of added white posca pen and some green stickles. The fonts are Segoe Script and PT Barnum.

If you would like to purchase Winter Fox, you can find him in the 2 Cute Ink Shop here.

Challenge 35

Very happy that Knitty Kitty Digis are sponsoring this months Crafty Addicts Challenge Blog!

The challenge this month is ATG/Add a sentiment and to the winner KKD are offering 3 free digis.

I have used from Knitty Kitties - "Dachshund Thru The Snow" and it's my first time colouring him up in pencil! I quite like these almost CAS cards because the colouring didn't take forever so it was quite quick! Hurrah!

This sequins were from a very old pinflair kit and I think they make quite nice snow! The font is "Apple Boy BTN" and I added some highlights using polychromo pencil in white and then a spot of White posca pen. The dachshund is coloured using polychromo pencils.

Close up of him -

Hop Day Seven!

Just hopping on by with a very suitable hoppy type image and another link back to the ORIGINAL HOP POST incase you need to look at if for how to take part :)

I wanted to have a go at the digistamp that Helen chose for the hop, BunnyRoo! It's actually the second attempt, I have decided that grey fur on kraft paper is not ideal, and that I should mebbe do a different colour next time! :) He was easy to colour tho, quite quick, which I approve of! lol. If you don't want to try and win him for free in the hop, he is in the etsy shop for sale too.

So I made BunnyRoo into a New Baby Card, always handy to have one in the card hoard! :) He is coloured using polychromo pencils on kraft card. Sequins from the stash and the font is Mister Sirloin. I used a white posca pen to highlight their noses :)

Snowglobes.

I think snowglobes are a bit of a crafting trend at the moment, and I was really pleased when my friend Helen cut me a few out using her Sweet Dixie Snowglobe die!

As before with my christmas cards, I blended Peacock Feathers and Faded Jeans Distress Inks and flicked them with water to make a snowy sky. I added some additional snow using a white Posca Paint Pen. I then put this behind a white die cut village from Sweet Dixie - Here Comes Santa Set.

I coloured and re-added the doors. Then I layered the sky, village and Snowglobe and stuck a santa (also from the die set) and greeting to the base. Fonts are Embassy BT and Chocolate Box.

The background papers are from Lawn Fawn 6x6 Pad - Perfectly Plaid Fall.

Guitar paint job :)

My friend Mike asked me to paint some images onto his old electric guitar to give it a bit of revamp! He chose lots of images that were meaningful to him (at least 100 in the end!) and I then collaged them together. These were the initial mockup pics.

After a few adjustments I began to sketch them onto the guitar body. (Mike had already sanded and primed the body, as well as removing all the neck and hardware.)

Adding the background colour. (We've decided it might be better to spray paint the background colour if we do it again!)

The first go at the details in white and dark blue.

 Finished front and sides!

And I did exactly the same process with the back. Here is the finished back and sides!

I then passed it back to Mike to laquer/wax. He kindly sent me this pic for that part of the process!

And finally here is all put back together, except for the strings! (hopefully have a picture to add soon with them on too!)

Really fun project and glad it looks so awesome now it's done! Hope to have some more photos to add of the finished result! Bit of a learning curve with this project, but I would love to have another go soon :)

Messing with CAS techniques Part 3

This is the third card I made at my friend Helen's house the other day, using some of the on-trend techniques used in CAS (Clean and Simple) cards. Also using some of her delicious new crafty purchases!

Watercolour background, matted and layered onto purple card stock (but it would be just as easy to do it one layer styley instead) and 3D foam mounted penguin on top. Added stamped greeting on vellum (Using a Misti - which is awesome!) and sequins from the stash!

Background: Gansai Tambi Watercolour Paints.
Penguin coloured with: Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens
Main image: Digistamp from Prettygrafikdesign
On Vellum: Greeting from Chocolate Baroque - Happy Words and Birds Sentiments.
Added White posca pen snow spots after!

Close up detail.

Condolences.

Sad news meant making a sympathy card for a friend.

Background made with distress reinkers on glossy card. Silhouette images stamped in Staz-on. Stamps by Sheena Douglass -  A Little Bit Sketchy, Sihouette Wildflowers. Added stickles in purple and used my white posca pen for the spots.
