Right Shed Fred

By fabulous coincidence Dr.Digi released this super gardening stamp just when I had in a commission to make a gardening card! I love it when that happens! This is Right Shed Fred.

I coloured him with polychromo pencils on kraft card. I love colouring wood at the moment and try and sneak it in to everything, so a shed was pure joy!

Here he is in the shop:

Here is my version of him:

Background paper is also from Dr.Digi's this time, it's part of the Seedings Backing Paper Set.

I colourised the backing paper to just be shades of green, but from the original colour scheme I cut out two of the flower pots to use as embellishments in the corners too. Font is ACME Secret Agent.

I added a few background plants to add to the gardeny feel! And a snail, can you spot him?

Thanks for joining me today! Why not check out the shop for more great gardening images?

Another Pop-up Commission.

(Catchupmageddon Post) Another commissioned pop-up box card using illustrations from 1950-60 Patrol Books published by The Boy Scouts Association.

I was asked to make an 80th for a Boy Scout Master and the customer said she would like it as a box pop-up card. I hoped, by including lots of the pictures from the books, which are well drawn and often funny, it would bring back some memories for him too.

Kept to a black and white theme to make it cohesive. Font is Breamcatcher.

No.1 Digistamp!

Hi all! I hope you have been enjoying the Dr.Digi's House of Stamps 7th birthday celebration on the Facebook Page? I am happy to finally post my inspo for this week and also share that the No.1 best selling digi of all time is Weekend Walter!

Here is the final Top 7!

#7 Knitty Nora
#5 Hole in one Hal
#4 Mobility Malcolm
#3 Dunderton Decorators
#2 Anglin' Andy
#1 Weekend Walter

And here he is! Fully prepped for a relaxing weekend!

Here he is in the shop -

And here is my version of him -

I coloured him with polychromos and added a few details, like stubble, hairy chest, borrowed ladies diaphanous leopard print dressing gown.... basically I had a thoroughly good time dressing him in animal prints, lol!

I used this fabulous backing paper from Making Cards Magazine (May 2019) and mounted the topper with some 3D foam tape. No embellishments this time, I thought he paper was busy enough. Added some white posca paint to the eyes to finish.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you guessed Weekend Walter and can look forward to an awesome prize from Dr.Digi's soon! Check the facebook page to see how you got on?

Napping Neville

Happy Friday folks! It's another Dr.Digi friday and I have coloured up Napping Neville!

If you know me in real life you will obviously spot that somehow Dr.Digi has spied into my living room and drawn a perfect likeness of my partner and his cat. Even the napping bit is spot on! I was somewhat freaked out when I saw it! lols.

Here is the digi in the shop:

And here is a close up of my version (Click on it to enlarge):

I have coloured him with polychromos on kraft card (Hessian Buff) and added some enamel bling and a sentiment from the Nap Sentiment Sheet.

I tried to colour this up to be a bit realistic, so this is a taste of my living room decor (or lack of) and my red sofa! And also, Bertie, my partners cat. Sometimes he is also my cat, when he is hungry.

One of my crafty friends did a photo showing the texture of her colouring so I decided to include this somewhat shiny picture (above). The area of the card I have coloured is completely smooth, I leave no tooth, so sometimes taking photos can be a bit of a reflective nightmare.

Thanks for joining me today! Why not pop to the Dr.Digi shop and find something nice to colour up too?

It's FriYaY!

To celebrate FriYay! I'm sharing with you my Dr.Digi DT Card featuring Chill Out Chaz!

As normal I coloured him with polychromos directly on to the Kraft card, but I decided rather than completely colour the background I would cut him out and layer him onto some patterned wallpaper, that I altered in paintshop pro to reflect the perspective! I know, sounds technical, but actually isn't remotely, woot! (Not entirely sure I got it right, but the thought was there!)

I then cut the background and the foreground into a square and layered it onto black and then an orange card blank. The fonts are Boys R Gross and Candy Round BTN. I popped on some orange gems in the rounded corners from the stash.

This image was a little bit of a challenge as I knew there were lots of refences to real albums and bands etc and wanted to get them the correct colours. (Giving a way a bit of my personality there I think, lol!) and I spent HOURS trying to find the Prog Fest poster Dr.Digi had  used for inspiration! Eventually I asked for clues only to be told he made it up! LOL! So I took some inspo myself from festival posters instead.

I am sure I know someone who used to have a tan leather bean bag....... but anyway, whilst I mull on that, here is a link to the shop, pop there and do some shopping!

Balloon Dog!

Makes a change from all these cats, finally a dog themed card!  Made a set of these and they were really fun to make. I printed out the text and balloon placement directly onto kraft cardstock. I then printed out the balloon shape on coloured papers and cut them out. The little dog is an old stamp from Woodware, the set is called "A Dog's Life" (FRCL032) and I've got a lot of use out of it already. Really enjoyed colouring him in with polychromo pencils directly onto the kraft card, my top tip would be to use lots of white! I mounted my 14x14cm topper onto a 15x15cm kraft blank just to add a bit of a modern twist :) I think it works great as a man's card but equally well as a card for a female friend. I added him some collar bling regardless of the recipient ;)

Summer Holiday - Dr Digi House of Stamps

Made a card for my FIL using this great image from Dr Digi. They have a really good selection of images suitable for slightly older recipients, nothing naff, nothing cutesy, actually quite funny and well observed. Shall defo be returning to them when I want something different, particularly for male cards.

So the digi is "Summer Holiday" by Dr. Digi.(Coloured with Copics)
The greeting stamp was from a magazine freebie set called "Teeny Boppers" (Creative Stamping Magazine)
"Dad" wording and little campervan images were upcycled from another card.
I used the freebie stamp from last months Craft Stamper Mag to personalise the envelope.

Entered for the Crafty Addicts Challenge for August - Anything Goes or Summer Fun
