Mycroft goes Siamese.

Hi Everyone! I come to you from the land of the plague. I've pretty much been in bed since the start of 2019! No... not an epic hangover, the mother of all colds (possibly the man flu!) attacked me and I was truly knobbled! Anyway, germs can't reach you through the tinterweb, so you are safe to read on.

Mycroft is back on Dr.Digi's House of Stamps Friday! My favourite Dr.Digi cat (yes, there is more than one) is this time, a long haired Siamese! (Tho I realise I'm not sure if that's super different from a Persian? )

You know I like to set myself a bit of a colouring challenge, so this time I decided to tackle wet fur, underwater fur and floating fur. It really was a challenge. I think I might be trying again, I wasn't happy with all of it, but it seemed a good point to finish up and think about it more for next time! (Crafty colourist friends, I really do want to tempt you into having a go!? He's only £1.50/$1.99 in the shop!)

Here is the stamp -

And here is my version -

So I used polychromo pencils as normal, and actually didn't change much (for me). Dr. Digi has kindly included lots of detail to help on this one, even the shine of the bowl!

I was going to go without white posca pen, but decided in the end that the white highlights and damp spot really needed something extra, so it was either posca pen or glossy accents, and I went with the pen. Font is A.C.M.E. Special Agent. Background paper and corner gems from the stash.

Thanks for joining me today and sharing in my colouring adventure! I shall aim for more impressive bedraggled cat results next time I tackle him, lol! Click the badge below to check out the busy Dr.Digi's facebook group!

At the bus stop...

Another friday and time to introduce you to one of the characters from the Bus Stop Bunch! Dr. Digi kindly split up the original bus stop digi into individual characters for us to use! Here is the original -

And I selected Babs, on the right, to colour today! And her little dog Baldric!

I like setting myself new challenges, so this time I wanted to have a go at a puffa jacket!
Here is a close up of her -

And here is the digi image you can get of just her ( In know people like to compare the digi to the colour version).

As normal she is coloured with polychromo pencils on kraft card. My kraft card stash is running very low and I am unable to find it to buy anywhere so it looks like I might have to learn to colour on something new, lol!

If you are interested in how I coloured her hat there is a photo demo of how I do knitted texture here.
I have also added a close up of Baldric and if you would like to see a demo of how I do fur, that is here!

As well as the polychromo pencils I used white posca paint pen for highlights. The stars are a recent purchase from Paperchase. The font I used for the sentiment is Grilled Cheese BTN. Background paper is from Papercrafter Magazine. I also used a 7x5 kraft card blank.

What nightmares are made of!

Soooo I think this might be my most disturbing Halloween card of the season, and it's thanks to Dr. Digi! lol. Here is Mr.Bitey - even colouring him made me scared.

Actually if you want a super fun digi to colour he is FANTASTIC! There are loads of interesting challenges and areas to inspire your creativity! Obvs, as normal, I used polychromo pencils on kraft card.

The greeting is from the Dr.Digi's Halloween Sentiment Set and I slightly placed it over my Mr.Bitey image on the computer before printing it out. As normal I always make the stamp paler, but do the sentiment at full strength.

Managed to find some jolly paper backing to add to the proceedings, it's a pretty old magazine freebie paper from the "All Man" collection by Creative Cardmaking Magazine ( I know because the label was still attached!)

Not added any bling or gloss, thought I might add it to the nose, but actually there is soooo much going on, I don't think it needs more! :)

Sorry about giving you nightmares today. I am not a fan of clowns either lol. If you want to see more less disturbing things from Dr.Digi, please click the link below to visit the shop!

Adulting - when does it stop?

Every time I go to start a blog with "Back once again...." my brain sings "...for the renegade master, D4 damager, power to the people." I fear that might give away my age? lol!

So.

Back once again with my Dr. Digi DT project using Commuter Colin

What is staggering about this project is that my partner said "Oh? Are you doing a mixed media project?

After twenty years a bit of crafting has rubbed off on him! So yep, it is just about mixed media, it's Polychromo pencils on kraft for the most part, but I paper-pieced some parts that I had coloured with Copics on white paper too.

The quote is from Grey's Anatomy and the font is Pristina. Cristina Yang was my favourite character but Meredith has more quotable moments I think! This one made me chuckle!

I 3D foam mounted the topper onto the card base. The background paper is from the very first paper pad I bought for crafting. It was a fabulous set, and I have never seen anything quite the same since. My friend Susan had a pad of it too and we always laugh when  a piece appears on a card ten years later! I can't remember who it was by, unfortunately.

Here is Colin in the shop, if you would like to purchase him?

My friend Lilibet's has done a fabulous version of this stamp in Copics, it looks cracking, if you want to check it out too?

Thanks very much for reading this remarkably rambly post today, I've hurt my neck and am a little bit loopy from no sleep and meds, you probably spotted that already tho, lol!

Wooooot! Good news! :)

http://www.doctor-digi.com/

Am very chuffed to report that I won a competition! The "Card for a Man" that I made for the current Crafty Addicts Blog Challenge Inspiration  won Doctor Digi's First Card Creation Challenge! I'm really pleased - it was a pleasure to colour, and now I get three free new Dr. Digi digistamps to enjoy.

(Original Blog Post Here.)

It was very hard picking just one as part of the CA design team to showcase their stamps for the challenge they sponsored.  I had narrowed it down to four favourites before finally picking "Santa Selfie". Now I get the chance to own the three I didn't get! They are going to be great to colour, can't wait! :)

Thanks Dr Digi's House of Stamps! :)

Challenge 10 at The Crafty Addicts Blog!

Hi everyone, just sharing my new inspiration-card for the new challenge on The Crafty Addicts Challenge Blog.

This time the theme is - Anything goes/ Card for a Man - and there are two sponsors, Doctor Digi's House of Stamps (Prize of  2 free digistamps) and Crafty Sentiments (Free 3 digi stamps for the winner!) So you've got a better chance of winning a super prize.

I chose " Selfie Santa " for my card, a digistamp from Dr. Digi! I think these are my fav digistamps to colour.

Close up of the card.

I used polychromo pencils directly onto kraft card. I love how it looks! Think not only is this my fav stamp, but my fav way to colour it! Takes a lot longer than copics, but I like the result.

Summer Holiday - Dr Digi House of Stamps

Made a card for my FIL using this great image from Dr Digi. They have a really good selection of images suitable for slightly older recipients, nothing naff, nothing cutesy, actually quite funny and well observed. Shall defo be returning to them when I want something different, particularly for male cards.

So the digi is "Summer Holiday" by Dr. Digi.(Coloured with Copics)
The greeting stamp was from a magazine freebie set called "Teeny Boppers" (Creative Stamping Magazine)
"Dad" wording and little campervan images were upcycled from another card.
I used the freebie stamp from last months Craft Stamper Mag to personalise the envelope.

Entered for the Crafty Addicts Challenge for August - Anything Goes or Summer Fun
