The Great Outdoors

You know I love colouring Dr.Digi stamps, so it was no hardship at all to colour this one up for my FIL's birthday! This is "The Great Outdoors" digistamp from Dr.Digi's House of Stamps.

I actually won this digi as part of a prize from Dr. Digi's earlier this year. I added in some background to the stamp to make even more of a scene. It's coloured with polychromo pencils on kraft card with highlights in white posca pen.

I matted a greeting on the top of the card with 3D foam pads.

Mazda mx5 2.01 niseko roadster

Another commissioned card for a 70th Birthday. The Dad in question is an enthusiast of a very specific car, and I added the numberplate of his version to the front of the card.

I collected the images from google and then recoloured them and made a photomontage. Added some silver studs to finish. Hopefully he will love it!

Happy Father's Day

I only had one commissioned Father's Day card to do this year, so I thought I would share it on Father's Day. :) The remit was "Roman Legion" themed, so I had this awesome digi from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps! The stamp is called Gluteus Maximus and he was fabulous to colour!

I used polychromos on kraft card and just added some red enamel bling at the end. The sentiment was also from Dr. Digis and is called Fathers Day Sentiment Sheet.

FIL Birthday Card!

Quick post to show you the card I made (and a spare) for my FIL back in August :) I wanted to use the new die I had from IO - DIE186-G, which is a plane and banner die.

I cut a cloudy edge from scrap card and used faded jeans distress ink and a blender tool to make a repeat mask for the sky. I then cut 6 red, then 6 white planes using the die, and cut the central section from the white and placed on top of the red, then added wheels and propellers in pen. I printed out the greetings and then die cut them using the banner die. They were 3D foamed onto the sky, which I matted onto red, and then onto the card blank.

Tool Pop Up Box

Another commission card for a new customer. Thought I would do a few different styles to test out what she would like. Using the basic pop up box card from Every Crafts A Pound.

Papers: Simply Creative 6x6" My Guy.
Stamps : Viva Decor, My Paper World - Old fashioned design and Vintage Tools.
Bling from Papermania.
Font: Ambrosia

Not done a lot of yellow and black cards and I like how this turned out. Stopped it looking too bitty by keeping everything within the colour scheme I think.

Summer Holiday - Dr Digi House of Stamps

Made a card for my FIL using this great image from Dr Digi. They have a really good selection of images suitable for slightly older recipients, nothing naff, nothing cutesy, actually quite funny and well observed. Shall defo be returning to them when I want something different, particularly for male cards.

So the digi is "Summer Holiday" by Dr. Digi.(Coloured with Copics)
The greeting stamp was from a magazine freebie set called "Teeny Boppers" (Creative Stamping Magazine)
"Dad" wording and little campervan images were upcycled from another card.
I used the freebie stamp from last months Craft Stamper Mag to personalise the envelope.

Entered for the Crafty Addicts Challenge for August - Anything Goes or Summer Fun

Painting Cards

Had in an order for two "Arty" themed birthday cards for the same person. Tried two new designs with this in mind.

The first, on Kraft Card, was created by masking off an area of the card using post-it notes and then applying media directly to the card. I had a go at heat embossing a cowslip stamp and then layering on gelatos and pastels after. My edges weren't super tidy so I added strips of ribbon either side.
Greeting stamped directly onto card, whilst " Grandad was printed and matt&layer'd on.

Had a go at this design using some Hero Arts stamps from there Stamp Your Story Brush Strokes set. The colours are all distress inks. I paper-pieced the brushes and added them after.

Made a really cheerful card, which is great for a man's card, they can tend to feel a bit solemn.

p.s. Cowslip Stamp was also a Hero Arts Cling Stamp called Elegant Weeds.
