Poor Purdie!

Firstly I have to apologise to owner and illustrator Amy from Witt & Sass for the horror I have subjected Purdie to. It could have been worse (Headless Purdie .....Clown "It" Purdie Hiding in a drain.....honestly drinking coffee does bad things to me) but I thought Purdie in her Halloween onesie might be a good plan! Then I added comedy eyeballs and the vampire mouth and she became, rather... frightening?

Introducing the new awesome Purdie's Halloween 4x8 Stamp Set from Witt and Sass! Mix and match to create you own Halloween outfit and accessories for Purdie!

So I've tried to make the eyeballs part of the costume (I added elastic, can you see?) and I thought adding fluffy slippers might lift the mood? (Also the light has been so fickle today that it's been hard to light my photos identically, apologies!) Do you think she's kinda cute from the neck down? Even with eyeball buttons?

All the elements I have used are included in the stamp set. The slippers are made from the front parts of the clown shoes, the eyeballs are part of the eyeball cluster, the onesie is just normal Purdie minus the bottom of her t-shirt and with a bit of a collar. The mouth is also part of the set, but it was a bit too wide so I took off a bit from either end. Voila! Slightly disturbing Halloween Purdie!

Thanks for braving my post! I love her, she makes me larf!  And glossy accents over eyeballs like this is FABULOUS, it might need to be my new go to bling embellishment, lol.

Ghost in a Jar, Sweets in a bag?

Nom, nom, nom.... always quite happy to find interesting sweeties appearing around Halloween, but I had to make do with Haribo today because there isn't much Halloweeny occuring in the UK shops yet. I know, cos I have been round them all searching for cool spooky stuff! Luckily Witt & Sass have launched something awesome for my Halloween Treat bags, the Ghost in a Jar Stamp Set!

Immediately thought this would be handy for tags and a brilliant way to use up my "alcohol inks on glossy card experiments". So I stamped directly onto the glossy card (Just with normal memento) and then cut them out to make awesome magical jars! (Obvs they are not just for tags, the team have made lots of awesome projects using this set here.)

I also stamped the cork end onto white paper and coloured them with copics, then cut them out and stuck them onto the bottles.  I similarly did this with the eyeballs and bones. The ghosts and slugs I stamped directly onto velum instead and left them white. I coloured up some paper with goldy brown distress inks and stamped the labels on to that, adding my own handwritten greeting, and some of the the wording that comes in the set.

When I had finished the bottles I found some orange, green and purple balloon ribbon to add on like a curly rosette so I could staple them directly onto my sweety treat bags. What do you think?  I'm going to make up the other bags when I can get some spooky sweets to pop inside, but here is a messy picture, with all the tags on!

Admit it, you are really only here for the tiny broomsticks arent you? lol. Tim Holtz made me buy them!

Car-card!

Popping in with a car quickie! Made this CAS Car Card (hard to say when you're drunk!) for my brother who has had a new car. My Mum passed me the details, I asked for some deets so I could add  some accuracy to the car and she told me... it's blue! The full technical response, lol!

So I found a free clip art car, printed it out and coloured it with copics (and a white posca pen), then cut it out. I printed out a banner in Mister Sirloin font. I did some watercolour blobbing directly onto a 7x5 card blank (with Gansai Tambi Watercolours). I fussy cut out the car windows and popped a mirrored style paper behind. Then I assembled. Job done. Made two, cos, why not?

Undead Fred!

It's Dr.Digi's Friday again and I have another awesome, and newly released Halloween digi to share with you! This is Undead Fred!

It's another one where I kept chuckling as I coloured him in, luckily no-one can see me whilst I am doing it! :D

I used polychromos on kraft, with some spots of white posca pen and glossy accents on the eyes. The sentiment is from the Halloween Sentiment Sheet also from Dr.Digi's!

I didn't want to go to gory with the colouring, but I kinda enjoyed thinking how zombie flesh might look, I know... I am a weirdo. :D Here he is in the shop -

And my version -

Thanks very much for coming to the blog! Why not join the Dr.Digi facebook group, or pop in for a look at what's new?

Outstanding!

Hi all! Made another card with the Falling For Scarecrow Stamp Set from Witt & Sass. I digitized the flowers so I could make one much bigger for colouring with pencils. Always ask the company/designer if it's ok to do this, it's essential etiquette! :)

The greeting is also from the set. I coloured this with polychromos as normal, and then added in some hand drawn bees buzzing around :D

Added some blobs of glossy accents and some bling from the stash. The paper is also from the stash and was  a magazine freebie ( Probably from Making Cards Magazine!).

It was super hard to take a photo of it, the pencil colouring has made the card so smooth it's almost glossy!

Thanks for reading this far! If you would like to see more creations with this stamp set, why not pop to the Witt & Sass Facebook Group?

Not-so-scare-crow!

Happy to be sharing with you a newly released autumn stamp set from Witt & Sass - Falling for Scarecrow! (4x8 Stamp Set.) He is not the most scary of scarecrows lol.

I digitized and enlarged him so I could colouring him with polychromos and add lots of pencil detail! (Always check with the stamp company or designer if it's ok to this, luckily Amy said yes.) The greeting is also from the set.

Really enjoyed trying to stick to warm autumn colours for this and apart from glossy accents to his eyes and a small amount of posca pen I left him very much alone,

Background paper was a magazine freebie (Probably Making Cards Magazine) and bling was from the stash.

If you would like to check out the stamp set, here it is in the shop -

Welcome to the hop!

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Witt & Sass & Beth Duff Designs Blog Hop

***Firstly I have everything crossed that all my friends being effected by Hurricane Florence are ok. I made this weather related card along time before anything about the hurricane appeared on UK news outlets so it wasn't intended to relate to real world events in any way!***

Forces have united to bring you a load of DT inspo projects using two recent release stamps sets, Fabulously Gobsmacked from Witt and Sass and Beth Duff Designs Adventures Abroad - London! (The London Set will be released on the 21st Sept, you can see it here in the W&S Facebook Group Hop Post til then.)

Here is my Shaker Card using the building and vehicles from BDD London Set and "Bloody Brilliant" from the W&S Set.  ( I added my own bit about the rain in Candy Square BTN.) I also coloured a bus in dark grey and lobbed off the top to make a taxi! And Tower Bridge has been converted to the Houses of Parliment, with a bit of snipping!

I tried a different method for the shaker rather than foam pads but went a bit cray with the sequins and now London has serious flooding issues, oops!  I thought adding rain to proceedings would make it more English! Brads and Baker Twine from the stash. Image coloured with copics. Background coloured with distress inks. Paper from Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid.

Also once you have completed the hop, make sure you go to look at the stamp sets, pick your fav sentiment from either and leave a comment on either the W&S Facebook Page, or the Beth Duff Designs Facebook Page. (Comment on either, it's fine!)

Carry on with the hop using the links below!

Internet Friends

Hi All, back with a Witt & Sass post and this week we are celebrating the newly released Sentiment Stamps! I picked the Friends Set for this one, and used the flowers from the You Are Beautiful Stamp Set.

I discovered something amazing whilst making this, you can use distress oxides and copics together! No running, no bleeding, no.... it was just fab!! Why did I not know this before?? lol.

I used  four distress oxides and four copics, I wanted to keep everything basic so it looked printed rather than coloured. I used,
Pickled Raspberry and RV21
Wilted Violet and BV02
Twisted Citron and YG11
Cracked Pistachio and BG23

Then I added an "S" of sequins from the stash, enamel bling in the corners and some pom pom ribbon on the base of the word banner. I initially created this as a one layer card, but eventually decided to make it into a topper and add some dimension!

Thanks for visiting me today. Have you been to the Witt and Sass official blog yet? It's kinda cool!

Frankenstein!

Whilst I was colouring this Frankenstein, Series Two of the TV series, the SeanyBeany version, came on the tele and I decided it was a SIGN! I dunno what kind of sign, but I was still impressed. Love this stamp! It's from Dr.Digi's and it's called Frank's Tune Up!

As normal it's polychromos on kraft. The Sentiment is also from Dr.Digi's Halloween Sentiment Sheet 1, and it's a bit hard to make out but the Skull N Bones Backing Paper is also from Dr.Digi's.

Frank is also part of the Halloween Set 2 from Dr.Digi's. Actually works out as a really good bargain, you save something like £8 and get a huge selection of stamps and papers etc. Worth a look if you enjoy colouring Dr.Digi's stamps up!

That's it from me today, I might have to share some more Halloween with you in my next Dr.Digi's post. I just love an excuse to use purple, green and orange together! Also, Dr.Digi's has a HUGE department of Halloween digi's that I am yet to colour! (Click on the badge to see the Halloween Dept in full!)

What is going on in the background...

Interesting week at Witt & Sass, our challenge this time was to make a project focusing on the "behind the scenes" products that Witt & Sass make!  I really wanted to have a go with the sea and beachy themed items so I decided to have a go at a seaside scene theme! ~hard to say quickly, try it ;)

Both cards are made using distress oxides through stencils and wet wipes dabbed to remove colour or add texture. Then I added detail and highlights with the stamp sets using distress oxides, white ink or dabbed onto wet wipes  to create a bleach effect.

I made two cards in the end. This one was a disaster, I put it on top of the bin (Top Tip, don't rip or crumple failed projects, just place them cleanly on top of your bin, often they are worth a rescue, particularly the next day!) and once it was cut and mounted and I added a pen outline to the stamp, I had tried and failed to use, it's now probably my favourite!

The second card worked a bit better, I decided to hand draw on some birds to create a focal point. I used a black pigment in pen and some polychromo pencil to soften them a little and add a hint of light.

I'm not sure if it worked out very well, I wish now I had stuck with one set of birds but hey-ho!

I pretty much used the same set of products for both cards, so here is a list of what I used.

Stencils

Stamps
Sentiments from the You Are Beautful Stamp Set
Freebie Magazine Stamp from the Stash, parent and child.

Other
Distress Oxides
Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink Pad
Pigment Ink Pen (to add birds)
Polychromo white and brown pencil.
White Fine Posca Pen.
Wet wipes (to remove ink through stencils etc)

If you want to check out what the rest of the DT come up with this week, why not pop to the official Witt & Sass Blog! ( I write there too, but with more dodgy humour and cruddy puns! lol)
