Under the weather!

Card thoroughly inspired by Simonne Clay using her Sugar Pea design's "Whatever the weather"set, which unfortunately I don't have, so we made do! :)

Love the idea of all the weather elements being combined in one image! My version is not as nice as hers but there are some bits I like!

Sun is a freebie stamp from Craft Stamper Magazine, coloured with copics and yellow stickles.
Clouds are from Joy dies.
Rainbow is a die from Daisysjewelsandcrafts.co.uk
Stitched rectangle is from Cottage Cutz. I used distress inks and water flicking to colour it up.
Raindrops are a combo of Nuvo Juwel drops in blue and gems from The Range.

New Haul!

Just wanted to share with you my awesome haul from Crafty Kitty Cat Shop! Super service as normal and am loving my somewhat kitty themed haul! Also had a prize from Fiki's blog - the lovely wedding arch die!  Fiki kindly added some freebies too (That Helen and I shared between us!).

Bunoalas live!

Here for a Knitty Kitty Post! After a bit of a bonkers chat with Lea on Instagram the other day, I was challenged to draw a Bunoala, and here they are! Half bunny, half koala, they sleep for 18 hours a day in carrot trees. :D

To buy them on Etsy Click Here :)

https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/553542037/digi-stamp-instant-download-bunoalas?ref=shop_home_active_1

I had a go at colouring them up, and in order to use something other than polychromos (My comfort pencil) I did this in Spectrum Noir pencils. Still on kraft card.

Background paper is from a pad by Kanban called Garden Vistas. Font is Atlas of the Magi. I added some glossy accents to their noses too :)

Pop by the shop to purchase!

Free Floral Digi

This card was made using the free floral digi when you subscribe to email updates from Kit and Clowder (one of the best places for colouring classes, guidance and community).  It's a lovely image and I coloured it up with Copics and added lettering to fit the commissioned request.

Flowers are coloured with copics, there is a layer of decoupage too.  I added diecut circles to the centre (there is a circle in the centre in the original digi too, but slightly smaller). Font is Courier. Pearls from the stash and the background paper is from Tonic Mid Summer Mornings 8x8 pack.

Hedge Pigs!

Commissioned card using one of my fav new stamp sets from My Favourite Things! Set is called Happy Hedgehogs and I am hoping they make people smile!

Hedge pigs are stamped in Momento Ink and coloured with Copics. Card base made with red polka cardstock. Highlights with White Posca Pen.

Looking forward to using more of these chaps soon on cards, I used five to make this card and there are still more in the set! MFT stamps are awesome.

Scottish Wedding!

A wedding card I made for a commission, the theme was Scottish! I was pleased to have a lot of parts left from my Hunkydory Twilight Kingdom kit so used them with some diecuts (The kit has a stag but no doe!) that Helen cut for me.

Ribbon, leaves, flowers and feathers all from the stash.

Gelato messing.

Helen recently donated me a very nice Chocolate Baroque Stamp set that has a GIANT Patchwork butterfly stamp in it. I really want to combo it with Gelato's to make a cool card. This has involved a lot of messing about with Gelatos, and believe me, it's very messy!

Last session I managed to have a few left over trial bits that I thought I could make into a quick birthday card. Because the one gelato is metallic, the sheen made it a bit prettier in real life than the pic. It's not an exceptional card, but not bad from leftover messy bits.

This is the smaller butterfly from the stamp set. To make the background I made a swooshy gelato base, layed a stencil over the top and then with a wet wipe rubbed through stencil. This is still prolly the nicest thing I have found to do with gelatos. We are still awaiting the successful giant butterfly card, it hasn't happened yet! :)

Greeting is from Hero Arts - Message with Flourish, I wish it was straight, argh! :)
Stencil from Creative Expressions - Doodle Squares.
Gems from stash.

Thinking of You.

I kinda like to use up "spares" if possible, and after the last set of Sympathy/thank you cards I made, I had some spare cats!

The cat die I used is "Leabilities Cats", and I had previous created the watercolour paper they were cut from using my Gansai Tambi Watercolours. The frame was made by scanning in a large sheet of watercoloured paper and then using it in Paint Shop Pro to create a border.
The flower jar was a magazine freebie stamp that I coloured up with copics and added stickles and glossy accents. Pretty much a CAS card I think?

Card-io Medley

This is defo the most adventurous Card-io card I have tried, taking inspiration from cards on the brilliant Card-io facebook page, really fab if you want some ideas of things to do!

This is using A LOT of difference sets so I am not going to list them all, but if you have something you would like to know more about, pop me a message and I will let you know which set it is from.

I actually used some of the inks and colours that Card-io recommend for the images in this, as well as distress inks. I love the combo they suggest for the wooden items, pots and even the tortoise. It's Versa Colour Ink in Pinecone and Cocoa. (Luckily Norms had already purchased them!)

I added some water (via a wet tissue) to the distress ink background to get a moody cloudy effect. I used some Lawn Fawn Grass diecuts to finish it off at the bottom, looked tidier with something covering it up!
Added flowers from Wild Orchid.
Font is a new fave, October Twilight.

Lucky Neko

Hi all! Just wanted to share with you today the new Knitty Kitty Digistamp - Lucky Neko! I should have made this post on the 8th Aug, which was International Cat Day! Excuse the lateness.

He is not only available in the shop, but you could also win the digi by taking part in the facebook group and sharing which Knitty Kitty digi you like best.

I had a go at colouring him, in my old fav, polychromo pencils on kraft card. Added a bit of stickles to finish and mounted him onto some Tonic Mid Summer Mornings paper and a 7x5 blank.

I tried to stick to a traditional Lucky Cat colour scheme, including the circular gold and black patterns on his arms and legs, it's wasn't very easy to do and I think it'd be fine to ignore traditional in this case, if you are having a go yourself!

Finally a little close up. I think he looks a pretty friendly lucky chap :)

And the winners are....

Just a quick post to announce that Kitmas in July is now over and normality can return! :) It has been great fun and I am glad so many people took part.

I have now sorted out the winners and they are:

Both win the full set of Snow Scene Digistamps (19 in total) and I hope they pop back to the facebook group to share their projects later.
Victoria Rowson and Ellen Smith have received runner's up prizes too.

Now I need a rather long catnap to recover :)

As promised...

Just to let you know that it's day five of the Kitmas in July giveaway and the last day in the facebook group for the flamingo freebies! Click the banner to claim yours now!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/KnittyKittyDigis/

Yesterday I said I would post the second card I made my partner today, and this time I used the fabulous Loads of Fun stamp set from Lawn Fawn and the 6x6 Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid paper stack! I love both!

I don't think he was impressed but I did enjoy making it, lol!
Colouring with copics. Washing machine has an acetate door with the smaller stamps glued behind. The missing orange sock is on the back of the card. He won't notice it, because he doesn't notice the odd stray socks ever at home either! :)

Simple watercolour flowers.

Had to make a few sympathy and thank you cards, so opted for something light and floral that would be fine for both.

I added some diecut cats to this sympathy card as I know it's intended for a cat person. (Die is Leabilities Cats).

The stamps are from Sheena Douglass's Bloomin Beautiful set. I stamped them in white onto watercolour paper, then heat embossed them in white. Then used my GT Watercolours on top.

I didn't try and do it as a one layer card this time, I 3D mounted some of the flowers onto the card.

I added a few simple sequin and some lavender stickles to lift them a bit.(They seemed a bit flat). I had an extra couple of flowers to add to the thank you card too.

I want to aim for something respectful but not gloomy when it comes to sympathy cards. In the past I have been more than happy to receive something a bit more uplifting when I've felt sad. I hope other people feel the same way.

Kitmas in July Giveaway!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/KnittyKittyDigis/

Back again to show you a couple of the cards I made with images from The Build A Snow Scene Quartet No. 55! (Not a very catchy name is it?)

If you would like a chance to win these images, and seventeen more (The complete Build A Snow Scene Set) then you  have two options:

1. Pop to the Knitty Kitty Digi Facebook Page and upload a Christmas card, or a card with a Knitty Kitty Digi into the challenge album.
2. Follow knittykittydigi on Instagram, find the giveaway upload and like and comment on it!
Everything closes on the 6th August.

In the Facebook group there are also some freebies, including the flamingo ice skating squad, one per day this week!

Hope you can join us and join in!

Here are my cards.

This is Chilly Tit in his new robin livery :)

This is Grumpy Bunny, unimpressed by Christmas! Both cards are polychromos on kraft card. I'm currently working on a tutorial to show you how I coloured Grumpy Bunny, so pleased either sign up for blog updates or join the Facebook group to be notified when it's live. Thanks.

Fonts are Rod and Scooby Doo.

Happy Birthday Roger

Just a reminder, if you haven't already, pop by the Knitty Kitty Facebook or Instagram Group to take part in the current Kitmas Giveaway!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/KnittyKittyDigis/

It's my partner's birthday today, not that he will read this, but just so you know why the following card is a little bit odd, it's for him! :)

So because I was pretty desperate to use my new Lawn Fawn Stamp Set - You're Claw-some, I adapted it and filled it with chess pieces! My partner loves chess. I couldn't resist using some chessboard style floor and funked it up a bit with some spotty background (wall) paper! (From Tonic Mid-Summer Mornings 8x8)

I spotted the matching spotty washi the day after I made the card, so I bought it to decorate the envelope too!

The claw machine and pawns are all coloured with copics and highlighted with posca pen and white gel pen.  The two fonts are CAC Pinafore and Candy Round BTN. I added some acetate to the machine, so you could see through it. Mounted on 7 x 5 card blank.

I kinda wanted to change the greeting to "Hope your birthday is Pawn-some" but then realised that has a VERY different meaning! Oops :)

This card was actually for his Mum to give him. I'll post mine tomorrow. :)

Number Two.

Second DT post of the day, this time it's for The Crafty Addicts Facebook Page, where we are having a few adhoc challenges this year. (No theme for them, it's an Anything Goes Challenge).

We are being sponsored by All Dressed Up (Prize is two free stamps!) this time and I used the fab image My Little Flower Girl.

It's not exciting I know but I used polychromo pencils on kraft card :) The font is October Twilight, one of my new favs. Added on some stickles and sequins to finish.

Number One.

The first of two DT posts today! And I'm starting with The Crafty Addicts Challenge Blog and it's Challenge 39 with an ATG/Girlie theme!

Moonflower Digital Stamps (Prize is a $10 voucher!) is sponsoring the challenge this time, so many pretty images to choose from! I had actually downloaded Lilly the Cat Fairy as a freebie previously so wanted to make use of her :)

As normal, she is polychromos on kraft card. And I found a nice kitty quote online to go with her.

Yeti - Part 3!

So I posted the other two Yeti cards I made using the Crafting Desert Diva's Yeti to Party set that Norms kindly stamped me, back in July, but had to save posting this one as I wanted to send it to my SIL.

I love these Yetis! They are so much fun to colour. I used copics and a white gel pen to colour them up and added some glossy accents to their eyes.

The background is distress inks and oxides splashed with water. The stitched hillside is from The Crafty Kitty Cat Shop. Fonts are Courier and Lobster Two. Washi tape is from Hobbycraft. I added some stickles to the hillside to embellish.
