A bit of Avery Elle for Christmas

Here are a few Christmas cards I made using two Avery Elle Stamp Sets, Brring On the Joy and Winter Woodland Wonders. I got both sets from Dies to Die for, so links to them there.

Each card uses a stenciled background and topper images coloured with copics. :)

More Magical Collab!

Hope you are enjoying the Magical Friendship Week and have managed to take part in some of the fun and festivities?! Pop by the Witt & Sass Facebook Page to get up-to-date details of what's going on!

Here is part two of my collaboration bookmark set using the Magical Creatures and Magical Accessories Stamp Sets from Witt and Sass with the Masters of Magic Stamp Set from Kindred Stamps.

I created the backgrounds using distress oxides, water and stencils also from Witt & Sass, the Layered Leaf Stencil and the Layered Dots Stencil. Once again "Make your own Magic" is a sentiment on the Kindred Stamps Set and I added "Read a Book" to it.

I coloured all the other elements with copic pens and a white posca pen. Behind each sentiment is a hidden secret magical quote!

And now I can also share with you some photos of the full set! I love how they look together!

Thanks for popping to the blog! I hope you like this foray into bookmarks! I did :D And hope you enjoyed a collaboration between two fab stamp companies too!

Magical Friendships

Hey All! It's Magical Friendship Week at Witt and Sass and I recommend following the Witt & Sass Facebook Group so you can take part in all the fun activities!

It's a happy week where Witt & Sass have teamed up with Kindred Stamps and the DT has been able to combo stamp sets from both companies for their DT projects.

(If you are hunting for something, it might be in this picture here!)

I have made a set of book marks for this week and I will be sharing two now, and the other two on Thursday! And impressive group shots, lols!  I have started with two of the wizards from the Kindred Stamp Set called - Masters of Magic.  The Greeting "Make Your Own Magic" is also from that set. I added "read a book" to it.

On the bottom of the book mark I have used Badgerpuff and Pytherin from the Magical Creatures Set from Witt & Sass. I also added books and potions from the Magical Accessories Set also from Witt and Sass. All the characters were coloured with Copic pens and a white posca pen.

The sentiment is actually a tab you can lift to reveal a quote underneath! I can't tell you what it says though because it's somewhat magical.

The backgrounds were created by blending distress oxides and flicking water on them to remove some pigment. I used stencils as well but due to the placement of the characters you can't really see them! #craftfail! lol .

I'm really looking forward to sharing the next two from the set with you! They were great fun to make (and a change from cards!) and I hope they might make a smashing Xmas pressie for a Wizard fan! :D

Magical Creatures!

Back here with some new things from Witt & Sass! It's very exciting to share all these new products with you, they are great fun to use, and I really hope my posts convey that! This is the new Magical Creature 4x8 Stamp Set.

I decided to make a CAS card set using the characters and sentiments from this stamp set and some other bits from the freebie digistamp set that goes with them. ( You need to join the Witt and Sass Facebook Group to see them.)

On each 7x5 card I masked off a section and with Distress Ink and the Witt & Sass Layered Dot Stencil created a bokeh-ish coloured background.

Here the sentiments, Badgerpuff and Leodor are from the Magical Creature Set but the letters and snitch are from the freebie set! I coloured everything with copic pens and dots of White Posca Pen.

I added some stickles and glossy accents to the cards. The silver blobs on the pink card are a silver distress dauber "slammed" onto the cardstock.

Thanks for joining me today. I would also like to share with you that I am hosting the official Witt & Sass Blog now, so perhaps you would like to pop by and have a look at what's going on, sometime?

Looking forward to using more of these chaps soon on cards, I used five to make this card and there are still more in the set! MFT stamps are awesome.

Simple watercolour flowers.

Had to make a few sympathy and thank you cards, so opted for something light and floral that would be fine for both.

I added some diecut cats to this sympathy card as I know it's intended for a cat person. (Die is Leabilities Cats).

The stamps are from Sheena Douglass's Bloomin Beautiful set. I stamped them in white onto watercolour paper, then heat embossed them in white. Then used my GT Watercolours on top.

I didn't try and do it as a one layer card this time, I 3D mounted some of the flowers onto the card.

I added a few simple sequin and some lavender stickles to lift them a bit.(They seemed a bit flat). I had an extra couple of flowers to add to the thank you card too.

I want to aim for something respectful but not gloomy when it comes to sympathy cards. In the past I have been more than happy to receive something a bit more uplifting when I've felt sad. I hope other people feel the same way.

I have to confess, I am having a Card-io stamp phase. Unfortunately not fitness related, very much stamp related. I've not owned any before and only had a dabble with a friend's and it's sooooo fun!

Pugmageddon!

More pugs! Is there a blog theme occurring? :) There just isn't enough ready made pug themed craft stuff out there for me. This time I began by making myself some pug papers, using distress inks, stamps and a few altered art techniques.

I used the dogs and words from the set called "We Love Dogs" by Craft Stash Limited. Once dried out I used them to decorate another box blank, then stamped a whole load more pugs to colour and use for the top!

Am hoping a Pug mad 24 year old will love it :)

Arty Impressions Cat Lady Stamps

I love this stamp set! It's actually a full set of stamps to make a triple fold card, featuring a "cat lady" and all her cats. It's the only Arty Impressions set I have and I am impressed with the attention to detail and quality of the stamps.

You could stamp them directly onto the cardstock but as I wanted to colour them with Copics ( which bleeds through to the other side) I decided to stamp them onto a nice smooth paper and then cut them out. Is that sort of cheating? :)

I've started to collect some prefered colour sets for colouring in various types of cats ( Colours of cats??) and it's handy when colouring my own digi images too. So my current Ginger Tom palette is -
Stripes - YR31, YR23, Y38, E33 and shadows in W1. Eyes in any yellow or green handy, and nose in whatever flesh/pink is to hand :)

I've decided finding other peoples cat stamps that I enjoy using is excellent research for my own enterprise. I quite like having very few details when I'm colouring the cats, but without a bit of guidance where paws or tails might be, it definitely slowed the colouring mojo! I don't like when the stripes are pre-drawn though. Do you?

Thoroughly enjoyed the process and love the card that resulted (passing it to a friend for her birthday, not selling this one) and it's made me think how I might make some cat "scenes" to stamp in layers of my own.

Additional Birthday Greetings by Hero Arts, "Birthday Messages" CL139

Entered into Crafty Addicts Challenge 2, Spots or Stripes/Anything Goes Am hoping all these stripey and spotty cats will fit the criteria :)

Gorjuss Tszujing?

Who can resist Gorjuss Girls? (Cross posted to Crafty Magic)

Did anyone else sucumb to the offer at The Range for three new Gorjuss Girl stamps for ten pounds?

I couldn't resist! Plus my friend Grace bought me the "The Hatter" for my birthday and it just made me want more! This stamp is called "Sweet Tea" and was very simple to colour, so-much-so that I think I might do something completely different with it next time and perhaps some paper piecing might tszuj it up! ( No, I'm not sure how you spell it, but I'm not letting that stop me!)

This is a 5 inch square Easel Card. Image coloured with Copics. Santoro Gorjuss Stamp and Santoro Mirabelle Papers. Flowers from Hobby Crafts and Wild Orchid Crafts. Font is "Little Lord Fontleroy".

Please note that none of my Gorjuss Girl Cards are available online and can only be purchased from me personally at Fairs, for example. This is due to the Gorjuss Angel Policy.
