Chubby Unicorn 2 - Pink & Orange, Buttons, Squares

Back with card number two for Witt & Sass. This super cool unicorn is also included in The Chubby Unicorn Stamp Set! As is the awesome sentiment.

When customer receive their orders, they will also get invited to join into one of the W&S card challenges. So you are given some inspo, and invited to make a card using the ideas! I used the Challenge: Make a card using, pink and orange, buttons and squares. If you take part in the challenge and share your project in social media, make sure you use the #wscardchallenge so we can find it and you!

The papers are all from the stash. I stamped the images using my stamping platform and Versafine Onyx Black, coloured with copics. I also added buttons from the stash and some stickles for additional bling factor!

Chubby Unicorn Launched!

First project for the new DT at Witt & Sass Stamp Company! This is Chubby Unicorn! She is not only part of a great stamp set, but also the logo of the company. Because she is fabulous.

This is the 4x8 stamp set I used.  It stamps beautifully, crystal clear impressions and all the stamps are nicely cut.

You might be wandering about sizing, so I have to tell you, I asked the original artist and stamp owner if I could scan and resize Chubby so she was big enough for me to colour with coloured pencils, the way I like to. Luckily she said it was fine, so in my version she is twice the size she normally is. Generally it's good ettiquette to use stamps at the size they are intended, but if you want to blow something up, or use it differently for a project I also recommend asking the artist if it's ok.

So I added some cloud detail and stars and then one of the sentiments from the stamp set and coloured with polychromo pencils. I also finished the card with some white posca pen, stickles and glossy accents.

Background paper is from the stash, and she is on a 7x5" kraft card blank.

If you are not already, why not join up to the Witt and Sass facebook group? It's a great way to keep up to date with everything that's going on, keep and eye out for giveaways and prizes!

Deep Sea Doug

Hi all! It's Dr.Digi time again and I have Deep Sea Doug to share with you! :D Also, I always seem to need more Minecraft cards, does anyone else have that problem? :)

Doug is a very flexible digi, he comes in a few different versions and even in a fabulous set, complete with matching papers and even a pre-coloured mine, so you could skip colouring that bit if you wanted, a bit of a time saver?

I coloured him in polychromo pencils and added a few highlights using a white Posca Pen. The background paper is from Lawn Fawn (Perfectly Plaid 6x6) and the font is Courier New.

Here he is in close up and this is what the digi looks like. It's unlike me, but I have stuck very close to the original, he is packed with detail so you can really enjoy just following the guidelines in the stamp.
Hope this has inspired you to have ago, or even just to have a go at colouring copper! I want to do a verdigris copper something next time I get some metal to colour, tho I think I might need to find a tutorial to help me out :D

If you would like to see more awesome projects, why not pop by the Dr.Digi facebook group and join usssssssssss??

G&T

A  Pop-Up Box Birthday Card I made for customer, who wanted it themed for Gin and Tonic, plus sunflowers and dollhouses! When the box was flat and folded up, it looked like a miniature house!

How does your garden grow?

Quick easel card using the Hunkydory, How does your garden grow, craft stack.

I actually purchased this stack quite recently, on first glance it seemed filled with ideas and potential but on reflection, it's only really useful for a particular style of card, and doesn't really match other things I have for gardeny cards. In most cases, the pop outs are foiled, and it's really hard to match foiled items with non-foiled. This gardening apron is one of the few non-foiled toppers. Not worth the purchase price, but you live and learn!

Christening.

A simple christening card commission. I found a free Celtic cross image on google, and used it as an SVG file for my cutting machine. I also cut out a shadow image to use behind it.

The papers were very hard to photograph, slightly pearlised creams and silvers. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Studio.

I don't often get asked to make religious cards, I thought keeping it simple was probably the best bet!

Up in the Air!

Quick card I made using MFT's Up in the Air stamp set :)

The stamps are coloured with copics. The background is distress inks and a homemade cloud mask and the background is from a Perfectly Plaid Lawn Fawn 6x6 paper set.

LBB - Lilly and Toby Sitting

Back with an extra Little Blue Button Stamps blogpost because I couldn't resist colouring Miss Lilly and Toby Sitting! (X-post with the LBBS Blog)

Decided to go with rainbow and run with the chameleon changing colour vibe! This is coloured in polychromo pencils. I added the wall for her to sit on. Here is the original stamp -

And here as a close up of her -

I really enjoyed colouring her (as usual, she is super easy to colour!) and the rainbow dress was worth the effort, I hope! :)  I didn't add any bling or glossy accents, thought all the rainbowness was probably enough to look at!

Backing paper is a magazine freebie. Font is Honey Script. 3D foam layered onto a 7x5 card blank.

Making Cards Mag - Freebies

Really liked this set of flowery freebie papers that came with July's Making Cards Magazine, and so far I have made two cards with it. One generic birthday card pretty much following one of the suggested layouts....

Font is October Twilight.

.... and another using a different colour selection, for a wedding card order I had in. The building in the centre is the venue for the wedding.

Fonts are Honey Script and Gloucester MT Extra.

Golden Wedding

Had in an order for a Golden Wedding Card for a couple who got married at Sutton Maddock Church in Shropshire. I decided to go a bit shabby vintage-ish with it and here it is -

It's a bit more successful in real life, because it's got a lot of dimension (it's almost an inch thick, oops!) but the church is a photo I tinted with inks (and distressed) and cut into layers to make a decoupage picture of Sutton Maddock Church. (Hope they recognise it!) Then I dry brushed gold onto the flowers, so there is a lot more gold catching the light when you look at it. Not sure it looks very gold at all on this photo!

I have used some wood effect paper from the stash, some blue paper from a magazine freebie and the hessian look background is actually a piece of window blind material. Added the gold just with acrylic paint. I think the flowers were a job lot from QVC! :)

Tiger Tiger...

Quick post with a card I made for a recent order. The theme was TIGERS! :D The recipient is such a beautiful little boy, and defo loves his cuddly tiger. I have now also heard, he really liked this card, so nice to get an update like that! :D

Tiger digi is from Prettygrafikdesign and is part of the line drawing set called "Baby Safari". I coloured him with Zig Watercolour pens, and water. The background is made using Gansai Tambi Watercolours. Font is Mister Sirloin BTN Rare.

Tropical Fish

Another Commissioned card for Father's Day with a tropical fish theme. I made the background using Distress Oxides, flicked with water. Then stamped the elements directly on to it. I then re-stamped the fish and snails onto white paper and coloured them with my Zig Watercolour pens. Then fussy cut them out and attached them on to the card.

I know if you are a fish head, you might be bothered about this guppy and betta living together, but it's ok, they worked out their differences and are now firm friends. :D

Distress Oxides: Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio. ( I think!)
Snails are from Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Scenic - SeaShells SD-LBS-SHELL
Betta is from Sea Creatures 2 (UM-L4) Designs by Ryn
Guppy, Plants and Bubbles are from Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Scenic - Underwater Angels SD-LBS-ANGELS
Fonts are Just the Way You Are and Hermes Manero.

I popped some glossy accents onto the bubbles because I couldn't resist and some tiny spots of white posca pens onto the bubbles and seaweed to add dimension.

CUP - Sheds.

Needed a couple of quick Shed cards, and don't mind buying card kits off CUP sometimes. It's easy but there's a lot of time required to cut it all out. Here are a couple of different shed cards I made.

This one was for my Father-In-Law on Father's Day. The front of the card, flat and closed.

And when you open the door it becomes a 3D room that stands up! I love the technology in this card!

This is 3D Room with a view - DIY Shed by Sue Douglas. Here is the inside.

And then I made another one for a Birthday Card commission. They donate to Comic Relief rather than give presents so I also had to include a little Pudsy Bear somewhere!

Father's Day

I had in a commission for a father's day card and was sent a picture of the customer's Dad and his cat! I had to do a card that looked like the two of them. I actually had a trawl through Dr. Digi images but couldn't find anything too similar, but then on pinterest, falsely attributed to Dr. Digi. I found this cool image.

It might belong to the colouring page I downloaded it from, but I suspect not! Unfortunately I can't share a link to the artist who created it, but it looked SO MUCH like my customer's Dad, I had to use it.

In Paint Shop Pro I removed the wife and replaced her with a large black cat. (It's a harsh world, lol!)

I coloured it with Copic pens and added some bling. The font is Atlas of the Magi. :) My customer was pleased with the likeness, not sure what her Dad thought tho!  :D

It's Eric!

Welcome to another Dr.Digi Friday on the blog, and this is all a bit different! I had in a commission for a very unusual specific card and for many reasons "Eric the Extra" turned out to be a perfect image for it. So here goes....

So the commission was for a card for a guy called "D" who was receiving a BEM (British Empire Medal) medal. He is a swimming coach, in particular for a group of kids called the "Gators" because they are from Northgate Swimming Club. North- Gators! So they have a alligator emblem and hence the alligator theme!

With a quick addition of some specs and beard to Eric, he now looks remarkably like D and so with a few more changes, like the medal, badges and altered banner he is now a miniature D ready for work!
I coloured him in polychromos as usual and cut him out for the card. However, the background was so bright he seemed a bit lost on it, so... I posca penned the outside of the image and made it white and then ZAP, all fixed.  (kinda! lol)

The customer had asked for the swimming pool to be in the background with the baby Gators, life guard and details I included. A lot of the elements match the actual pool they use to train in. It's all hand drawn, inked and coloured with Copic Pens.

Here is normal Eric, before I messed about with him, Dr.Digi was kind enough to let me alter him a little bit for my project! If you see an image that you love but want to alter a tiny bit, why not email the artist and explain what you'd like to do? Often they say yes! They might even help with it! :D

Parting shot of Eric! If you would like to see more Dr.Digi images, where you maybe you can find the perfect chap for your project, please visit the shop! There are LOADS of awesome images to pick from.

Gaming!

I have quite a few card orders for computer/gaming cards, this is my go to card. I made a background some time ago using inks (distress) and stamps (freebie magazine one) and then scanned it into the PC, now I just print out the elements and assemble them each time I need a boysy gaming card.

I thought I had posted this before, but couldn't find it anywhere! So it's mat and layered elements with a bit of decoupage on the controller. And a length of some jazzy cord to act as a cable. Glossy accents to add some pop to the buttons!
